dear ivo,
i woke up in my own bed. i was sure i had fallen asleep in the infirmary at school. now i was in my bed with my five year old sister looming over me.
"where's mum?" i asked.
"good, you're up, bear. you was asleep for two days. we was starting to get worried." ray replied.
"where's mum?" I asked again. i wanted to see mum.
"she's at work. her boss said she has to come today or else she's be fired."
"when does her shift end?"
"i dunno, bear. it's saturday. do you wanna do what we used to do every saturday?" ray asked.
"sure. remind me again what we usually do. it's been a while."
"we watch saturday morning cartoons and then we take charli and watson for a walk." she replied excitedly.
"okay."
it still hurt less to move but it still hurt. i had to lean on ray to get to the bathroom. after doing my business, i checked my appearance.
my head was wrapped in a bandage, dry blood on the left side. i had a black eye and bruises up and down my body. they really got me good. i wonder why genny and her gang hurt me. i did nothing to them.
i leafed my shirt up and saw my stomach wrapped up in gaze, covering a huge gash on my side. it went from the waistline of my jeans to the beginning of my bra. it hurt to twist my body.
i sighed. it's going to hurt for a while to move.
coming out of the bathroom, i went downstairs. ray was already glued to the screen. she had some cartoon on. we watched for a few hours and then took the puppies for a walk. we had to stop mid-way to the park because it hurt too much for me to walk. we barely got off the driveway. the park was across the street.
"how are you gonna go to scwool?" ray asked.
i shrugged but then winced. "I'll make it. but it'll hurt like crazy."
