"Have a good evening Ms. Reed," the receptionist said.

I smiled and continued out the door. I'm beyond tired. My case load is huge and I have a murder trial coming up. I'm pretty sure my client is guilty although he hasn't admitted it. I just want to go home and hop in the bed.

I got in my car and there was a tap on the window which made me jump. I looked up and noticed Cayman smiling at me. I rolled down the window to see what this creep wants.

"Do you know how creepy you look?" I questioned.

"I was in the area and decided to pop up on the fancy lawyer lady," he smiled, "You still owe me a meal."

I rolled my eyes at him. It's been about two weeks since the showcase and we've been too busy to meet up.

"Where to?" I ask and unlock the passenger door so he can get in.

I watched him as he buckled up and couldn't help but to admire his appearance. He looks way better than I remember. He's aged very well although we're both still young. The only thing that's changed are the tattoos he's gotten on his arms and he has a tiny nose ring.

"Wherever you want is fine with me."

After driving around and arguing over what to eat we settled on a small restaurant.

"So how've you been?" He asked, "I know you're a fancy lawyer now."

We both laughed.

"I'm great. Me and my fiancé just bought a home so everything I have nothing to complain about."

Cayman's eyes opened wide and he let out a loud cough.

"Wait," he paused, "You're getting married? When's the wedding? To who? When can I meet the lucky guy?"

His rapid fire of questions made me chuckle.

"His name is Rashad and he's a doctor. We don't have a wedding date yet." I explained.

Me and Rashad have been engaged for about two years and we've been too busy to even think about a wedding. He wants a big expensive ceremony and I'd rather go to the courthouse and get it over with.

"Well when you two decide, I better get an invitation."

"Of course."

The waitress finally arrived and we dug into our plates. I kept finding myself staring at Cayman. I can't get over how good he looks.

"What's been up with you Mr. Artist man?" I asked.

"I've been traveling a lot doing gallery shows and stuff but I had to slow down after Cameron was born."

My jaw dropped. He has a kid? That's crazy.

"Cameron? Is that your child?"

"Yeah," He said while pulling out his phone.

A few seconds later he handed the phone to me and I saw the cutest baby boy. He looks just like Cayman. They have the same caramel colored skin and curly hair. And don't get me started on those chubby cheeks and eyes.

"He's eight months"

"Oh my goodness Cayman he looks just like you but cuter. Are you and his mom together?"

He let out a sigh and clenched his jaw. I'm going to take that as a no.

"Nah, we don't exactly see eye to eye."

"Well, if you ever need a babysitter I'm here." I smiled trying to change the subject.

"I'll definitely take you up on that offer."

We spent the rest of our dinner catching up on old times and cracking jokes. I haven't seen him in eight years but it doesn't seem like it. I think I'll keep him around.
