(Sherri's POV)
Hiding what you truly feel wasn't as hard as hiding your true relationship with someone, gaya nalang ng tagong relasyon namin ni Kate. She was right. It was too quick, too fast to ponder. But surely it was something I wouldn't regret of doing. I feel secured than I ever was. Yung ang sarap sa pakiramdam na gigising ka na alam mong may isang tao na naghihintay sayo na magising. You start your day with her and end with her. Matutulog kang may ngiti sa labi because you just made a memorable day again with her at bukas may panibagong araw na naman kayong pagsasaluhan.
And here I am in Kate's house for the very first time as her girlfriend. Girlfriend! Ang sarap pakinggan! Ang sarap sa pakiramdam! But there will always be but's. I need to be reminded that our relationship is bound to be kept as secret. I need to be more vigilant than the people whose eyes were on me. And lastly, I need to be more careful with my actions especially now that there is really something to be kept a secret. Lalong-lalo nang kasama ko si Chloe.
Kasalukuyan kaming nasa sala at naghihintay lang kay Kate na makalabas sa kwarto nya.
"Oh, Sherri, darling! You're here!" ang hindi ko inaasahang pagbati ng Mommy ni Kate na may kasama pang beso.
I wondered what's her point of view about same sex relationships.
"Hello po, Tita! Kumusta po kayo?"
"I'm very good! Ikaw ang kumusta. You weren't able to make it yesterday."
"Oo nga po, eh. Gusto ko po sanang sumunod kaso may lagnat si Mama. Di ko po maiwan."
"Oh, really?"
Tumango ako.
"Now, that's really more important than that. Pero ngayon, kumusta na sya?"
"Nung umalis po ako kaninang umaga ay medyo mabuti na naman po yung pakiramdam nya. Kinumusta ko din po sya bago pumunta dito."
"Aw. That's so nice of you. How about your Dad? He should be home early to look after her!"
"Nasa malayo po si Papa, eh. Abroad."
"Oh! Now that I understand. Magkakaintindihan din kayo talaga ni Kate dahil malayo din yung Dad nya. Nasa Canada. But they'll meet soon kasi susunod naman sya dun."
Canada? Susunod sya dun?!
"Hi, Tita!" bati ni Chloe na galing pa sa labas dahil kinausap ang Mommy daw nya. Bumeso pa talaga ito sa Mommy ni Kate.
Now, I don't know if I should be jealous or feel guilty for letting her keep her hopes up for nothing.
(Chloe's POV)
"Hello to you too, Sweetie," bati din sakin ng Mommy ni Kate habang nagbebeso kami.
If Sherri thinks sya lang ang malapit sa Mommy ni Kate, then I'll prove her wrong. Baka akala nya na kahit nasa labas ako ng bahay nila ay hindi ko sya nakikita at binabantayan. Napakatraydor talaga. Mahilig sa larong patago!
"Teka, asan na ba itong si Kate at pinapahintay kayo? Excuse me dear, okay?" saad nito sakin bago itinuon ulit kay Sherri na nasa tabi ko lang ang atensyon nito. " Sherri, hija, why don't you check on Kate in her room first while I check our dinner. Baka nasusunog na kasi yun, eh."
"O-o sige po, Tita," nag-aatubiling sagot ni Sherri.
Dapat lang!
Napatingin si Sherri sakin. Sa kaloob-looban ko ay di ko mapigilang matawa. She's so scared. Nakakaawa!
"Gusto mo bang ako nalang kumatok sa kanya? Alam mo na, andaming mga matang nakatingin," pananakot ko dito.
"O-o sige," pilit na ngumiti ito.
