I was just lying on my bed staring at the ceiling for eternity until another knock on the door pushed my patience to the limit.

"For goodness sake, Zoe, if that's you, I'm going to cut your head off!"

This has been happening for a week now, in a countless times a day, that Zoe's disturbing my pitiful imprisonment. I don't know why but I found Zoe annoying for some reason. Olivia, her little sister, was at least a sweet girl.

The door opened showing off Zoe's annoying face.

"Easy, my dear sister. Just a gentle announcement before you cut my head-off," she closed the door behind her and continued talking in a whisper, "Your girlfriend's outside talking to Daddy. I think she's not really in good shape right now so you better treat her right."

Napaupo ako sa sinabi nito. Simula nang nakita nya ang picture namin ng Sherri ay hindi na nya ako nilulubayan sa pang-iinis nya.

"Seriously, Zoe. I don't have time for your crap."

She lay on my bed feeling pretty at home.

"You should know better than that Kate. You, of all people, should realize you only have me to talk to about whatever is disturbing you lately."

Lately. It wasn't just lately. It's been months already. Pero isang linggo ko na ding hindi pinapansin si Sherri dahil nga sa kahinaan ko.

"I saw you both," she said getting my attention. "She kissed you, to be precise."

Ironic it may seem pero parang na-relax ang muscles sa mukha ko. Tension should be growing inside me but Zoe's assuring look somehow kept me in a relaxing, silent mode.

Umupo ito't paekis ang paang humarap sakin.

"I know how it feels hiding something you wanted so much for the world to know," malungkot nitong sabi habang nilalaro ang mga daliri sa kamay. "But honestly Kate, it's nothing different to my situation. Despite being able to at last break my silence, it even make the situation worst. Mom's planning to isolate me from the world and it's nothing better at all." Tinignan ako nito na para bang ibang Zoe ito, the annoying one is gone. "For now, you have her and that's what's important. Forget the what if's and the buts Kate. You won't find another beautiful lady who loves you so much anywhere else."

Hindi ko alam kung ano ang isasagot ko dito. Gustuhin ko man o hindi, Zoe had a point. Instead na sulitin ko ang oras na natitira ay  sinasayang ko lang ito.

Pinukaw na naman nito ang malalim kong pag-iisip sa pamamagitan ng pag-tap ng likod ko.

"Fix yourself, bro. I'll ask her to come in."

As soon as Kate's step-sister went out of her room without her, my heart started to beat unevenly. Kanina pa ako kinakabahan pero mas kinakabahan ako ngayon. Ito yung klase ng kaba na wala, naiiyak nalang ako.

Isang linggo na simula nang huli kong makita at makausap si Kate nung graduation day. Pagkatapos nun ay hindi na ito nagparamdam ulit. Dahil sa sakit bigla kong naisip na mas gugustuhun ko pa ata ang hiwalayan nya ako ng maayos kesa yung mawala ito ng bigla ng walang paalam.
