I'm not the most popular girl in the world. In fact, you could say I was invisible and nobody cared about me. The only person I had was my best friend, (Y/F/N).
We did everything together since we were ten, but then she moved. I was so depressed that I couldn't sleep or eat and sometimes I would miss school and ride my bike to her house, which was about two hours away on foot, just to see her. When my mom found out she grounded me and told me I wasn't allowed to see her anymore...ever. I was alone.
When I became a freshman, to keep my head on straight, I joined as many clubs and committees I could. I was one of the smartest kids in school so it was easy for me to keep up and still join almost every song club out there. I joined: AV club, Science club, home economics, dance committee, welcoming committee, and decorating committee. And I was in charge of every one, yet I still had nobody until that day the new kid came.
I was told I was going to show him or her around the school and help them get a feel to it. I waited in a burgundy, leather chair outside of the principals office with my bag and a few pamphlets for different clubs for about thirty minutes until the new kid came out with a smile. I jumped up and straightened my outfit when I saw him. I smiled at him and held my hand out.

"Hi I'm (y/n) I'll be showing you around the school today." I said with a perky smile.

"Hey I'm-I'm Peter." He said nervously.

"Hi Peter. Well let's get this show on the road shall we?" I asked as I started to walk down the hall with him. "The school was founded in 1962 and has been one of the best schools in Queens since then."

He looked at me "really?"

"Yeah! We have the best extracurricular activities and clubs in Queens. Speaking of clubs, here are a few pamphlets for some of the clubs. I'm in most of those so if you pick any of those you'll have a familiar face to greet you."

He looked at all of the pamphlets and smiled "these are awesome thank you."

"No problem Peter." I said as I stopped at a locker. "This is your new locker!"

He smiled and opened it up to put all of his stuff in it. I waited until he was finished putting his books in their when I gave him his schedule.

"Oh thank you." He said grabbing it.

"Your first class is math, which I am in so if you need help finding it-"

"Oh it's okay I think I can find it." He said sweetly.

"Oh uh okay. Well then I'll see you there." I said with a nod and I walked to my locker to grab my book.

When I got my book I saw a boy standing there with a smile.

"Hi?" I said to him as I shut my locker.

"Hey! I'm Ned." He said holding his hand out.

"Don't I know you? You're in AV club with me?"

"Wait really!?"

I gave a nervous laugh "yeah we've been in the same class since second grade."

"Oh..."

The bell rang cutting off the awkward silence.

"Yeah if you will excuse me I have to get to class." I said as I walked around him.
