(Y/n) walked into the little diner near her house and sat down put the counter with a sigh.
"I'm so over boys!!" She yelled as she banged her head into the counter.
"Woah what's the matter? Date didn't go as planned?" Tom asked from behind the counter as he washed a cup.
She looked up at him and glared "you'd think that it would be easy for a sixteen year old to find at least one good guy around here."
"No boys here suck."
He laughed as she grabbed her, her favorite milkshake.
"Thanks" she said as she sipped the milkshake. "I just thought he was the one. He was sweet and funny and very cute but-"
"Oh there's a but." Tom said as he rested his hands on the counter as support as he leaned in.
She looked up at him wide eyed "he's such a complainer! Oh no there are too many ice cubes in my drink!" She mimicked the boy "why is the food so hot! It hurts my teeth. Why can't I have a normal life!" She mimicked again.
"He really said all that stuff!?" Tom asked in shock.
"Oh yeah, it was horrible! The worst date by far." She looked down "will I ever find someone, Tom?"
"Well if you don't I'll marry you." He laughed
Her head shot up "really?"
He looked back and forth "um yeah. I say if we don't get married by our 30th birthday we have to marry each other."
Tom really liked (y/n)...a lot and he never thought she would agree to such a petty thing like that.
"That-that's not actually that bad. Should we do something to remember this pact?"
"Um I can write it down!" He quickly grabbed a napkin and a pen.
She raised an eyebrow.
"Oh come on it's the only thing I have!"
"Okay..." She said as she wrote down the information and had him sign it. She did the same.
"Alrighty! We have a deal." She said with a smile
"That was complete and utter stupidity." He said with a laugh
"But it will be fun...don't you think?" She winked.
From that moment on (y/n) went on dates like she usually did but now Tom was always right there to ruin it. It sounded crazy, but Tom loved her too much for her to be with anyone else.
_________
"So how did the date go?" He asked her on phone
"Ugh completely humiliating! We walked into the restaurant and I was wearing that white dress you told me I looked cute in and when I got in there my date looked at me all funny and I realized I had a red stain on my butt! He was gone before I could say hi. Can you believe that!?"
Tom tried to suppress a laugh, he had been sabotaging her dates since she was 16, they were now both 25. At first it was because he liked her now it was just a funny game.
"I have five years Tom! Five years and I haven't found one good guy."
"Oh I'm sure you will find the right one. Eventually."
"Yeah...I'll let you finish filming your new Spiderman movie. Which I can't wait to see with you by the way! Thanks for letting me go as your date."
"I couldn't see my last Spider-Man Premiere without my favorite girl."
She chuckled "Alright, I love you!"
