My life was not my own...it never had been.
I've been an actor ever since I was three years old. I was on a show that got majorly popular with made my career sky-rocket. My parents were ecstatic that there child was going to amount to something that they never were capable of. I was content for awhile like most child actors.
I liked the attention and I loved dressing up for parties and social events. My parents were my managers pushing me to do every job even the minuscule ones that I didn't need to do to make my career soar. I was burnt out by the age of 13, but the kept pressuring my to go further.
At the age of 16 I got my own show on ABC or as it's called now Freeform. It was a hit. Everyone loved it, except me. I was exhausted with all the shoots and the parties and the fans. It was too overwhelming for me. This resulted in me running away at the age of 17. I took all of my money in my savings account which was, mind you, a lot of money. I packed a few articles of clothing and drove away in my car.
I was done. I disappeared to a small little town seven hours away from LA. I decided to cut my hair, dye it and wear my glasses which I was forbidden to wear before. I was finally normal, which I had never been before. I lived in my car until I turned eighteen, which was only a month away. When I turned eighteen I bought a house and was ready to start my new life. I lived there for three years. The day I turned twenty-one was the day I regretted everything.
I missed my parents and my home and my child-actor friends. People still talked of "The Disappearing Child Actor"
I watched many interviews with Directors saying how much they would do to have me in their new movie or show. Which never interested me until now. I had made a mistake and it was time to make a comeback.
I sold my house and everything in it. I took my clothes and hit the road back to LA. I was ready to start fresh and my parents gladly accepted me back.
I was all over the front pages and was even called to be on The Tonight Show and Ellen to talk about my comeback. When people found out I was back I got hundreds of calls from directors wanting my in their next movie.
My house was filled with fruit baskets, expensive gifts, flowers, and a multitude of Scripts overflowing on every smooth surface I owned. None of them really struck me as a "Comeback Movie" except one.
"Untitled Spider-Man Project 2"
I walked over to the counter with my light pink silky robe on and picked it up and read through it. They wanted to cast me as Mary Jane. Even though Zendaya was "M.J." They still wanted Mary Jane in the picture as a love interest.
Marvel is one of the biggest movie franchises out there I couldn't pass it up.
I decided to give the director a call.
"Hey, Jon it's (Y/n)" I said introducing myself as held my phone with my shoulder and my ear as I looked over the script.
"(Y/n)! How are you liking the script?" He said over the phone.
"Oh my, Jon it's absolutely wonderful. I couldn't imagine passing up an opportunity like this."
"Are you saying you would like to come in and work on the movie with us?"
"It would be an absolute honor to work on this film."
I could feel him smiling over the phone "I'm thrilled! I can't wait to work with you."
I gave a small laugh "as am I. I'll see you soon. Bye now."
I gave a happy little sigh as I plopped on the couch and re-read the script over and over again. This was happening.
