"And I didn't know if it was him or me!" Betty laughed as she touched my arm.

"Hey are you okay (y/n)?" She asked now noticing I was staring off into the distance.

"What?" I said as I shook my head and looked at her.

Betty titled her head at me "What's wrong? You seem a little out of it."

"Me? No! I'm fine. I'm completely fine. Just thinking about that homework in Mr. Harrison's class that's all." I let out a small laugh.

"Okay...if you say so. I have to go get my book from my locker. Wait for me here okay?" She smiled

I smiled back at her "for sure." I nodded.

She nodded back and skipped to her locker. I watch her walk down the hallway for a few seconds then turned my head back to where I was staring to begin with. I sighed as I saw Liz touch Peter's shoulder slightly as she laughed. He smiled back at her.

This feeling inside me had been eating at me for months. I didn't know what it was but it has made me cry for the past two months. I felt dead inside, like an empty shell.

Peter noticed me staring and smiled at me. I shook my head, shut my locker and quickly walked away.

There it was, that empty feeling inside my chest, I didn't want to keep going sometimes and honestly it hurt not being able to tell anyone about it without knowing they would freak out.

"Hey (y/n)! Wait up!" Peter yelled as he ran down the hall with he usual cheery, and inviting smile.

I tried to smile back at him.

"Hey, I'm glad I caught you. How are you? You have been avoiding me a lot recently, I've started to think you hate me...d-do you hate me?" He asked shyly as he looked at the ground then back at me.

I shook my head "No of course not! I just haven't been feeling the greatest lately, that's all." I shrugged.

"Oh..." he said sadly "what's wrong? You know you can always talk to me. You know that right?" He asked as he put his hand on my shoulder.

I inhaled sharply at his touch "Yeah I know, but honestly I don't know what's wrong." I forced a laugh "I just have been feeling weird lately."

"I get it weird feelings are...weird." He said with a crooked smile "I want you to know that I'm always here, you can share or you don't have to, but I'm always here if you need."

"That means a lot, Peter thank you." I smiled at him.

"It's what friends are for." He nodded with a warm smile.

Friends that's the word that's been eating at my emotions for months. Ugh I hate that word.

"Yeah...Friends." I said

We both started to walk to class together in silence.

"Um how are you?" I asked trying to break the silence.
