"It was hard to say the least. Facing all of the challenges made me us who we were. Peter Parker was a great friend, an ally...a lover. He was my best friend. And now-now he's gone." I said to the church full of citizens of New York and close friends of mine and Peter's all crying about the lost hero.
"Peter died a hero. He died doing what he loved and even though we..." I paused because it was just too hard to say. "Even though we didn't find his body we know that he was helping his city become a better place. We love you, peter."
After the funeral service I stood at the door and smiled my best to all of the people walking out giving their condolences.
When they all left I sat at on the first pew crying. I heard footsteps nearing to me and I looked up to see Ned holding flowers.
"Can I sit?" He asked.
I looked at him, wiped my tears and nodded for him to sit.
"He loved you more than anything in this world you know." Ned said as he gave me the flowers.
I laughed to myself "New York will always be his first love, I learned to accept that years ago."
Ned sighed as he put an arm around me "that's what you think, but did you know he trained longer, fought harder, and loved more when you came into his life? He wanted to make this city a safer place for you."
I looked down at the floor and shook my head. "I just wish I knew what happened. Where he was-" I choked I couldn't get the words out.
"I know. We all do." Ned stood up and put his hand out to me "here let me walk you home."
I gave a weak smile and grabbed his hand as he walked me back to my apartment.
"Thank you for walking me home, Ned."
He kissed my forehead and smiled at me "everything will get better. I promise."
I nodded and walked inside my apartment. I threw my purse down and put my keys on the kitchen counter. I walked into my bedroom and changed into so sweats and made some tea.
I looked out to my balcony and saw it was raining hard. Even the sky was mourning the death of a hero. The whole city was in shock when they found Spider-Man's suit tattered on the ground soaked in blood. It was only thing that showed us that he was gone. Four months passed before we pronounced him as dead and it was the hardest thing this city had to do in years.
I sat on my couch in my dark living room and watched the little movies peter used to make with his camera he took everywhere. I was starting to tear up when I heard a knock on the door.
I turned off the tv and the knock got faster.
"Hang on I'm coming." I said but they continued to knock louder.
I ran to the door "what the he-" I stopped and raised an eyebrow "what are you doing here?"
"I came to see how you were."
"Oh screw you, you didn't even come to his funeral! You know how bad that would have hurt him if he know you didn't come? You need to leave."
"(Y/n) let me explain."
"No Tony! No, you care about nobody but yourself." I started to walk away from the door and then I walked back up to him closer than I was before. "He loved you like a father Tony."
"I know (y/n) but please let me talk."
I scoffed "let you talk? Okay tony go on, tell me why you couldn't make it to his funeral. I'm waiting" I said as I crossed my arms.
He moved out of the way of the door and there stood peter.
I put my hand over my mouth and started to cry.
"P-peter!?" I cried
Tears fell down his cheek "it's me (y/n)."
"But you were- you're dead?" I said to him
He looked at me and shook his head "I'm not dead."
"You've been gone for five months and they found your suit tattered and drenched in blood."
"Oh yeah that was an accident."
"What?"
"The suit wasn't covered in my blood it was someone I had to...kill. After I killed him I panicked took the suit off grabbed the body and ran to Tony's house. He told me to stay with him till I was ready to go back. And when Tony heard about the funeral he told me we had to come back and tell you I was safe."
I walked up to him and slapped him "I've been mourning for five months and you just now want to tell me!?"
"(Y/n) I'm sorry please. I'm sorry."
I started to cry as I grabbed him and kissed him as much as I could.
"Please don't ever leave me...please."
"I'll do my best. I promise."
I cried and held onto him for as long as I could hoping this wasn't a dream.
I heard footsteps and something drop onto the floor. I turned to see Ned with his mouth wide open.
"Ned don't freak out!" Peter said
"Peter!? What the-!"
