Chapter 39

Finn POV

I woke up sleepily next to Rachel who was also still asleep, I kiss her cheek softly and get up.

I go into the other bedroom where Nicola was sleeping to find her bed made perfectly.

"Where is she?" I say quietly

I walk into the living room to see her drinking a cup of tea, I looked at my clock that was on the wall, it was 6:24.

Why the hell is Nicola up at 6 I'm the morning?

I walked over to the table and sat down, which caused her to lift her head up.

"Hey pumpkin" I say

"Hey buddy, how come your up so early?" She asked

To be honest I don't know why I'm up early, I just woke up at this time and I'm not tired. Which is strange

"I don't know, I just woke up. How about you?" I ask

"Couldn't sleep, I'm sorry if I woke you up." She says drinking her tea

"No, you didn't wake me up. You were so quiet that I didn't even know you were up, when I walked in here I almost had a heart attack" I say quietly laughing

She just smiled

"What date is it?" Nicola asked me

I looked at my phone, oh my god its Halloween!

I didn't even notice, with everything that was going on I didn't even remember we were in October

"It's Saturday, it's Halloween. We need to get a pumpkin and decorate the house" I say getting up to make coffee

"Wow, you really like Halloween, aye?" Nicola asked raising her eyebrows

"Of course!" I say pouring my coffee

When Rachel got up we went to get a pumpkin, Rachel also forgot about Halloween

I hired a bodyguard yesterday and his name is Adam, he's a very built guy with big muscles and a lot of tattoos.

Me, Nicola, Rachel and Adam walked into Walmart and as usual a crowd appeared around us

"Listen guys mr Hudson is just here to get some shopping so please vacate" Adam said, the crowd slowly moved away and let us go to the pumpkin part

I was holding Nicola's hand, Rachel was holding onto my arm leaning her head on my shoulder

"I've never seen American pumpkins" Nicola said sternly

"Well honey, I don't there's much difference" Adam said patting Nicola on the back

I'm happy to see that everybody is getting on with Adam.

Once we got a pumpkin we all entered my house in single file

Nicola sat in the counter and lifted the pumpkin up with her

"Let's do this!" I say beginning to empty the pumpkin

We carved a face into it and shut off all the lights so the only light was from the pumpkin.

We layed it in the middle of the table and sat down in the dark

"You know I prefer the dark" Nicola said through the darkness of the living room

"Yeah because you can't see what people are doing" I whisper into Rachel's ear, I slowly pulled her in for a kiss. It went a little far to making out.

Nicola didn't notice or at least I thought

"Bedroom guys" she says

We reluctantly pull away

"How did you-" Rachel got cut off

"6th sense" Nicola says

We all sit there in an awkward silence in the dark

"Go have fun, I'll be in here listening to my music. I'm tired anyway" Nicola said

I could sense she was smiling

"Go on, bang hard, you've got an excuse Not to go to work. She won't be able to walk" she said serious

I'm lost for words right now and so is Rachel, I missed this part of her tho, she's not been herself so I'll give her a pass

I slowly get up and interlock our fingers

I hug Nicola tight

"I owe you one pumpkin" I say kissing her cheek

She winked at me and Rachel as we made our way to the bedroom
