Chapter 58- Zillah
The beginning of the journey was quiet and peaceful. Edward's family made great traveling companions, and besides my occasional morning sickness, I was fine. I was only four months into the pregnancy, and had not started to show, but I was worried that this one would be as bad as my first. As the sun broke over the cloudy sky, I clutched seven month old Rebeka to my chest, and held my husband's hand. Rebeka was chattering senselessly in my ear, but I didn't mind. Whatever she was talking about sounded pretty intelligent. The sun broke through the clouds in the east, and several hours later the port of Vienna was no longer in sight. I sighed and left the railing, deciding to lay Rebeka down for a nap, and to take one myself. Catherine followed me down.
"Zillah?"She asked.
"Yes Catherine?"I replied, bending down to kneel on the floor.
"Why does Rebeka have to take so many naps?"She asked.
"Rebeka is very young, and not used to staying up as long as you or I."I answered.
"Why do you take so many naps?"Catherine asked, thoroughly confused.
"Because I have a baby in my stomach, so some of my energy goes to him or her."I explained.
"Why don't you know if it's a girl or a boy?"Catherine asked, jumping onto the bed.
"Because I can't see them yet."I answered.
"Zillah, where do the babies come from?"Catherine asked, scooting closer to me.
"Alright Cat, let's let Zillah rest now."Edward said, coming into the room.
"Okay then..."Catherine replied, sulking out of the room.
"She's very inquisitive isn't she?"He murmured, sitting next to me on the bed.
"She is, but she has a great mind."I replied.
"It's hard to believe my little sister is eight years old."Edward said, turning to me.
"It's hard to believe our daughter is seven months old."I responded.
"It is, it is."Edward agreed, kissing me gently on the lips.
"Now, as I heard someone say a few moments ago, let's let Zillah rest now."I reminded him.
"Okay then..."Edward moaned, walking out of the room acting every bit as immature as his younger sister.
I lay down on the large bed and slid all the way across to the corner. I was still slightly hot so I slept on top of the covers, with the three windows opened. I untangled my gown and laid my head down on the soft feather pillow, and quickly fell asleep.
