Chapter 63- Edward
While I was floating in limbo, something indescribable happened. It felt like I was dreaming, and I thought I was until I awoke and Zillah explained what happened. While I was dreaming, I had a vision of Aaron coming to Amana drunk, and desperate. The vision showed me what I needed to do, and what would happen. I won't lie, I was pretty freaked out by the vision, not only because of what it showed me, but because I was seeing it at all. I decided to not tell anyone about it because I didn't know what to say. Zillah would only be worried about seeing Aaron, and worry about me. That was the last thing Zillah needed. In the vision I saw Aaron helped from his boat into a smaller rowboat and his first mate row him up to the beach where I was standing with my arm in a sling. Aaron told me about how after he killed Ash, he lost everything, and was a mess. He asked me questions about my faith, and how I could forgive him after all he had done. When I awoke to find Zillah and all of them, I was convinced that the vision was a dream, and I knew that Aaron would never come to me for help. As the days went by after I awoke, I grew stronger, though my left arm stayed weak, weakened even further by my semi-recent sword wound. Zillah came and talked with me for a few hours each day, and I could see that she too was gaining strength, but not very much weight. She was really too skinny and I didn't need anything happening to her. By the beginning of February I could walk around, and had convinced my parents, Alex and Zillah that I could handle the lookout position again. It was tough climbing with one hand, but I managed every other day. When mid February rolled around I was up every day, which is why I saw the ship come towards the island. I didn't get the sense of déjà vu until I saw the man lowered I'to the rowboat and rowed to shore. When the boat brushed up onto the sand, I wasn't surprised to see Aaron Dalton and his first mate. Aaron was barely conscious and had many cuts and bruises all over his face.
"Captain said to come here, some 'unfinished' business."The first mate said.
"I know."I said to the other man. "Aaron, I know why you are here."
"How?"Aaron moaned.
"You need help, you're living with the guilt of killing Ash, and for what you did to Zillah and I."I said, putting Aaron's arm around my good side.
"How?"He murmured, before passing out.
Between the first mate and I we got Aaron to an unused look out center where we woke him, fed him and let him sleep. The first mate left saying that Aaron wasn't exactly fit to be captain, and needed to get back to his ship and head back to Port Royal. I sat watching Aaron for a few hours, waiting for him to wake up. I kept replaying my vision in my head, trying to figure out what to do. I knew I couldn't take him to the village yet because he was a mess, and there would be questions I wasn't prepared to answer, of course, Aaron's questions I wasn't exactly prepared for either. The first thing Aaron said when he woke up was,
"Help me."He moaned.
"Aaron, eat something, then we'll talk."I said, pushing a bowl of fruit towards him.
Once Aaron ate he looked up at me, and it seemed his mind was finally right.
"I killed her Edward, I killed her."He murmured.
"Aaron, I know, but don't dwell on that."I answered.
"But Edward, I killed the woman I loved!"He cried, looking up at me with tears in his eyes.
The man was a mess, and it was going to take all the Power of God to make it right again.
"Aaron, I know what you did, and I know how horrible you feel, but I know of Someone who can help."I said.
"Who, I've been everywhere!"Aaron cried, looking down at his muddy boots.
"I know He has helped me in tough times, and I know that He has helped Zillah in very troubling situations."I said.
"Edward, do you hate me for what I've done to you and your wife?"He asked quietly.
"No Aaron, I don't hate you. In fact I pity you, and pray for you to meet the same peace that Zillah and I have."I replied.
"But how Edward? I mean, I raped your wife, and you aren't mad. I tried to kill you, and you aren't mad?"Aaron was incredulous.
"Aaron, I'm not saying it was easy to forgive you, because it wasn't, but with God's help, we were able to, and have been much better off because of it.
"Edward, I killed a person, the person I loved, and I'm going to live with that guilt the rest of my life!"Aaron said, standing and pacing.
"You will, but God can take most of that guilt and let you free."I said, grabbing Aaron by the shoulder.
"What happened to you?"I could tell he was desperate to change things.
"I fell from one of the taller lookout stations and broke my arm."I replied.
"Ouch."Aaron mumbled.
"Yeah, but while I was unconscious, I had a vision that you would come here seeking help."I replied.
"It's true, when you first found me you said something about why I was here, and you were right."Aaron said thoughtfully.
"Aaron, God can heal all of your wounds, and take away all of your guilt. He can clear your muddle brain, and he can lift the guilt and burden from your shoulders. You just have to allow him to."I said, stepping back away from him.
"How?"That one simple word spoke a powerful statement.
"Just repeat this prayer after me."I said, helping Aaron to sit.
"Okay, and everything will be fine?"Aaron asked.
"As long as you believe what you say, you believe that Jesus is King, and you truly repent of your sins."I said.
"I do."Aaron confirmed.
"Father I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen." I prayed.

"I feel so much better, like a physical weight has been lifted from my shoulders."Aaron breathed.
"It has."I responded.
"Edward, thank you, for everything, and I just wanted to say I'm sorry."Aaron said looking me in the eyes.
"You have accepted Christ as your Lord, and I am happy for you."I replied.
"I feel as if I'm only made up of pure happiness and peace!"Aaron cried, starting to skip around the circular room.
"But you look gay!"I laughed.
Aaron laughed, I mean actually laughed. "Edward, you're probably right."Aaron said, sitting down.
"Come on; let's get you cleaned up, and in some new clothes."I said, helping Aaron through the bushes to the stream we used for bathing. "Clean up, and I'll be back with some new clothes."I instructed, already weaving my way back home, hoping to get in and out without being seen.
