Chapter 65- Edward

Aaron settled in easily on Amana deciding he didn't want to return to the normal world. Everyone welcomed him eagerly, even Zillah's parents who knew what he did. Aaron had also decided that he didn't need a hut to live in, and had instead agreed to live in one of the larger lookout stations to stay on all day watching. We didn't see him all that often, but when we did see him, it was great discussing the Bible with him. I found that Zillah was pregnant again, and so was Cara. I was excited that I was going to have another child, as Rebeka and Tallon were fun to be around. I still found it amazing that Zillah and I were married, safe, and that we had two kids, and a third on the way. I sat watching Zillah as she gardened one day, and laughed to myself. Her copper hair was pulled back, but continued to fall in her face, and she was covered in dirt that Cara had thrown at her. She still looked lovely, especially with Rebeka and Tallon playing in the dirt at her sides. It was already the 1st of March, and things were still going smooth. From the farming we had plenty of food, and plenty of room to store it. Everyone was completely settled in, and already working on bringing up the population. Everyone had a home and routines were established. It was far more than I ever could have hoped for, but the proof was right in front of me. Rebeka would turn three in five days, and Tallon two in December. Catherine would be ten, and I would be 24. Zillah had just turned 16 in February, but from all that she went through, was as mature as me. The island was prospering as well, providing plenty of shade and water, as well as entertainment, and a lovely place to live. There was plenty of wood and everything needed to build more huts when the population expands; it would have to if we didn't want our work and legacy remembered. If anything were to happen we had about four ships that could be stocked and used in case of an emergency, but the worst thing that had happened was my fall, from which my arm was mostly healed. It was still a little stiff, and there were moments when it would start to hurt, but it was healed and ready to use. I could only sit back and think about the next few years on Amana, our personal oasis. Even Aaron had completely settled in, and had started a relationship with Jane. It was a fun time, hard at some times, but fun. I enjoyed the freedom it gave me, and the chances to explore things I never would have thought of back home. I thanked God for putting me in the right place at the right time. If I hadn't of been there to see a young Zillah follow Shadow on board that pirate ship, she would have died, and I wouldn't have had a lovely, caring wife, and two wonderful children, or even the new degree of friendship with the friends who came with us to Amana based on their trust of me. Amana truly is the center of all things.
