The room was empty for the most part, besides for a few guards and servants running around. Molly took a good look at the vicinity. Everything was black. And there was a winding staircase on either side of her. In the distance that stood in front of Molly were two large thrones with a few more smaller ones on the sides of the big ones. This place was a mansion and much bigger than Molly had imagined. Savannah led her across the room and stooped in the center.

"This is our home, Molly," she told her.

Molly was still speechless ,but managed to mutter, "It's... It's beautiful."

Savannah smiled and pulled her up the right side of winding stairs. Molly followed eagerly.

"We're going to meet my parents," Savannah informed her.

That eagerness disappeared from Molly. What if she did something wrong? What if they didn't like her? What if they insisted on not letting her leave, or brainwashing all her family and friends? And if she happened to get too feisty with them... Well, they are vampires and could destroy her in seconds.

When her and Savannah reached the top of the stairs, Savannah turned sharply to Molly. "Remember what I told you."

Molly didn't have time to even open her mouth to respond; Savannah was far ahead of her, walking down an endless hallway. Molly cursed and had to jog in her ankle-long dress to catch up with her.

Savannah suddenly came to a stop in front of huge and not surprisingly black double doors. Molly stood next to her while she watched Savannah motion for one of the guards once more and he responded by pushing open the doors for them.

"Mother? Father?" Savannah walked into the large room and called for her parents.

Molly was still at the doorway staring in awe at what she was seeing. Savannah realized Molly wasn't with her and looked back then chuckled, "Come on."

Molly slowly followed her into the room but her attention from the large room was averted to two figures that came from out of no where. A man and a woman. The man was dressed in exactly what a king would wear- along with a large red cape and a black, pointy crown. The woman was clad in a long and flowy black dress, with red diamonds along the sides, and had long, black hair that went to her hips. She was wearing a crown just like her husband's. While she was taking the two in, Molly felt a force on her back and looked over to see Savannah scowling and pushing her down into a bow. Shit, Molly thought. She's already messed up. Molly finished the bow on her own and Savannah finally introduced her.

"Mom, dad, this is Molly. And she's..."

The lovely woman before Molly smiled and walked over and held out her hand for Molly. "I'm Catherine."

Molly didn't know what to do. Did she simply shake her hand? Did she kiss it? Oh God. "Umm... Hi," Molly said and shook Catherine's hand. "Nice to meet you, your...uh...majesty."

Catherine laughed. What's it with this family and laughing when nothing is freaking funny? Molly looked over to the father but he didn't come towards her. In fact, he looked uncomfortable.

Savannah took over for him. "And this is my father, Nicholas."

Molly bowed in his direction. He only scowled and then took Savannah's arm and led her around a corner of the room.

Catherine smiled at Molly. But her smile was tense. The two eventually re-joined Molly and Catherine again. Neither one looked too thrilled, either.

Her father walked up to Molly and looked her over. "So you're the human."

Molly slowly nodded.

She didn't like being referred to that as if it was a repulsive thing. They were the strange ones.

"Well, my Savannah has chosen you as her mate," he told her like she didn't know.

Molly nodded once more, not knowing what she should say.

"Well Savannah has told me of your discomfort with me brainwashing your loved ones back home, " the king said.

Molly knew just what to say now. "Yes, I don't want them to completely forget about me. Could Savannah not be seen there?"Molly replied.

Nicholas sighed. "Well, she can. But what would you tell them? That you're going to live with a royal vampire family. And you're one of their mates?"

Molly thought about this. What would she tell them? "Could I not still live at home, and visit Savannah and you all once in a while?" Molly suggested.

Catherine and Nicholas began to giggle. Molly grew even more angry when they did this.

"You can't stay away from your mate, Molly," Nicholas said.
