Chapter 13- Taken

Molly blinked.

She felt as if she had been sleeping forever. She opened her eyes and found herself staring at a dirty and cracked ceiling. She sat up and explored the area around her. Not that she could look around much- she was in a cage. There were bars surrounding her.

She tried to stand, but was yanked down by a chain clamped around her neck and attached to the ceiling. She cursed and thought about the last thing she remembered.

James... Oh no.

"Is she awake?" She heard an unfamiliar manly voice say. The sound of a door opening followed.

She immediately flung herself back to the floor and squeezed her eyes shut. She heard footsteps. More than one person was here.

"Aw man, she's still out." One manly voice said.

"I wanted to taste this 'amazing' blood I have heard all about," another voice added.

Her blood?! Who were these people? Neither of the voices belonged to James.

She heard some footsteps going opposite of her location. She figured they were leaving so she peeked her eyes open.

Oops. There was a man crouched down and he was staring through the bars at her. He gasped when her eyes opened then laughed.

"She's awake Liam!"

A man was suddenly crouched down next to the other man and they both stared at her. Molly stared back at them with wide eyes. What did they want? Why were they staring at her like she was from a different universe?

"Does she speak?" The man named Liam asked quietly.

The other man shrugged and they both continued to peer at her. There was a door slam again and James walked in and rolled his eyes when he saw what was going on.

"Stop teasing my newest possesion."

'Whaaa?!' Molly thought. But she remained quiet.

The men stood up. "Can we drink from her yet?" The man Molly did not know the name of asked eagerly.

"No," James glanced at her. "Not yet, Vincent."

She gasped and sat up and scooted as far to the back of the cage as the chain around her neck would let her.

Liam laughed. "Awh. The human is scared."

James shot him a glare. "That human is the only way we can win this war, idiot."

War? What was going on?

Vincent suddenly looked right at her. "Yes, war."

What? She didn't ask that out loud, did she?

He chuckled. "No, no you didnt," he told her.

James frowned. "Stop reading her mind, Vincent."

So he could read minds? Wonderful.

"What happened to you? Why do you suddenly care about the way we treat her?"

"Cause she's Savannah's mate. And Savannah is my friend," James replied.

All the men looked at her simultaneously. She glared at each of them. She wanted to say something, but didn't know what.

Liam suddenly sighed. "Is everything ready for tomorrow?"

James nodded. "We just need to go through some more training then we will have the rest of the day to rest."

"We need to tell the others we have the girl," Vincent suggested.

Liam and James nodded in agreement and began to walk out of the room. Liam suddenly stooped and glanced back at Molly. She flinched.

"Should we knock her out again?"

James paused before responding. "Nah. There's nothing she can do."

"Like escape?" Vincent put his hands on his hips.

"How do you think she will escape?" James asked, clearly irritated.

Vincent shrugged. "I dunno, but we can't risk loosing her."

James sighed and was suddenly holding a sharp and long needle.

He came walking towards Molly. Her heart began to race.

"James!" She finally found her voice.

He kneeled in front of the cage and reached through the bars to grab her.

She bit his hand as she had done before when he reached for her arm. He squealed and growled.

She was suddenly tugged close to him; the cage bars the only thing seperating them.

"I'll explain later," he mumbled as he shoved the needle into her arm and she fell right back into a familiar sea of blackness.
