CHAPTER 21: Number Fourteen

PATRICE’S POV

 

October 05. Saturday.

I’m currently in Tyrone’s place. I brought him lunch so we can eat together in his house. He was busy lately dahil nga nagta-trabaho na sya sa business company ni Daddy, pero maswerte ako dahil nakakasama ko pa rin si Tyrone kapag weekends, which is just perfect kasi pag may pasok sya sa office, may pasok naman ako sa university (estudyante pa rin ako, noh. Hehe). Kaya masaya ako that every weekend, we can still hangout.

While we’re eating the lunch I brought, I tried to talk to Tyrone about my Ate Laurice and everything that happened last night. Nung bumalik kasi si Tyrone galing sa restroom, nagyaya na syang umuwi agad. I told him I should wait for Ate Laurice who was busy grabbing some drink for us para sabay- sabay na kaming makauwi but then he brushed me off. He looked pissed, so wala na rin akong nagawa kundi ang i-text na lang si Ate na nauna na akong umuwi. Tyrone didn’t speak the whole ride home. Nung makauwi naman si Ate, umaga na…

 

“Ate Laurice, are you okay?” I asked her when she sat down on the stool and rested her head on the island. She looks wasted from last night. While me, looks perfectly fine, naggagawa pa nga ako ng lunch namin ni Tyrone na dadalhin ko mamaya sa apartment niya.

 

“Hangover is killing me. Can you give me water, please?” sabi ni Ate Laurice, her head is still bowed. I got her a glass of water. If mom sees her like this right now, I’m sure there’s something not good going to happen. XD

 

“Did you still party with Julian after we left?” I asked her, then going back in doing the lunchboxes.

 

“Not with Julian, he also left after you guys left. I was partying all night with strangers.” Ate Laurice answered after she gulped down the water. That’s very Ate Laurice, she’s good in dealing with strangers. Hehe.

 

“Speaking of, I’m sorry I went home first. Tyrone offered a ride home. Maybe something came up kaya nagmamadali syang umuwi.” I told Ate Laurice, though naisip ko, baka nawala lang talaga sa mood si Tyrone kaya nagpaka-KJ. Ganun pa naman yun, moody nga! ><

 

 

“Ahuh? You think so? Maybe he just doesn’t like me that much kaya nagyaya na sya umuwi agad.” Ate Laurice shrugged. I raised my head from what I’m doing when she said that.

 

 

“Ate Laurice? What makes you think na ayaw sayo ni Tyrone? You guys are okay, I can see that.” even though hindi halata, I was observing Tyrone and Ate Laurice while they were talking. They look casual. I think everything went fine last night… so, what the fudge is my Ate thinking?

 

 

“Well, I think it’s just me. I don’t know why, but I kinda feel like it, that he doesn’t like me. Whatever, maybe I’m just drunk. Hehe.” Then Ate Laurice laughed it off then offered a sister-bonding by helping me with preparing lunch so she can also shake her hangover.
