CHAPTER 25: Let’s Talk About Trust
October 11. Friday. 1 PM
PATRICE’S POV
“Hi… I’m home.” I closed the door.
Ang sakit ng ulo ko, nag-exam ba naman kami kanina sa isa kong subject, thank goodness it’s over. (-__-)
“Yup, nag-lunch na po ako. Maaga po natapos classes ko ngayon e. Nanay Lisa, pwede pong pakuha ng juice? Thank you.” utos ko then nahiga na ng tuluyan sa sofa. Next week na yung finals week namin for this semester, masyado yata akong nai-stress kaya sakit nang sakit ang ulo ko lately…
I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do for my internship next semester… Yung iba kong classmates, nag-decide na sa ibang bansa sila mag-i-intern… sina Charisse at Aira naman, undecided pa rin like me… If I’m going for my internship overseas, meaning… malalayo ako kay Tyrone?
She’s going down the stairs and behind her was my dad.
We need to go to Vancouver. We already booked a flight and we’ll stay there until this weekend.”
“It’s about your Tito Lucas, Patrice. His wife called me this morning saying that Lucas… He passed away.”
“What happened to him?” Tito Lucas was Mommy’s cousin and childhood friend. Hindi ko man laging nakakasama si Tito Lucas, he was always close to our family.
“He was suffering from a heart disease. And his Alzheimer’s even made it worse. I didn’t know that his condition has gotten this worst for the last years… ” I can hear the pain in my mom’s voice. She treated Tito Lucas as her brother.
