CHAPTER 22: One Lucky Girl
PATRICE’S POV
October 06. Sunday.
I was wearing the cocktail dress that I bought from the last time. My sister offered me a drink. We’re standing beside a table. In this reception, you can see tables with different guests everywhere talking with each other. By the side of the hall, there’s the buffet of different foods that we can choose from. And they set-up a massive T-shaped stage where the fashion models will ramp later.
The lights are scattered everywhere while a lively pop music is blasting around this hall. I looked at my phone again, waiting for Tyrone to send me a message saying he changed his mind.
“Pat, it’s okay if Tyrone’s not here. We can still enjoy the show, sis.” Ate Laurice tried to cheer me up. May mga tinawag syang kakilala niya then introduce them to me. I think one guy is a celebrity. Sorry I’m not really into show business so I don’t know his name pero alam kong isa syang celeb.
“Ate Laurice, start na! I’m so excited! First time kong makakanuod ng ganitong show.” Sabi ko kay Ate. At least it is half-true. Nung makita kong isa- isa ng naglalabasan yung mga models, parang na-excite agad ako!
“Hey, look at that dress she’s wearing. Conservative but sexy. I like it.”
“It looks nice. I know you can rock it, Ate Laurice.” I’m a Tourism student and I also have a thing for fashion kaya na-enjoy ko din ito. I know I would’ve enjoyed it more kung nandito si Tyrone….
“Look, sis. That one. I will order that for you, exactly your style.” She’s wearing tight pants and boots.
“Wow. Parang ang mainstream but I like it…” sabi ko kay Ate Laurice. We clicked our glass of wine that we’ve been drinking since the start of the show.
“Oooh~ It’s time for guys.”
“Ghaddd, look at that face. So handsome.”
“Ikaw talaga, Ate Laurice.
“Alin? Yung sunod? Yun? Yung naka-red? O yung naka-black?” this time nag-tuturuan na talaga kami ni Ate Laurice.
“Hindi yan, yun ngang naka-black. Diba ang pogi? Hihi.” Sabi ko. Actually, hindi ko talaga ‘type’ in that way, I mean, he looks hot at naalala ko si Tyrone dahil mahilig syang magsuot ng black.
I immediately lighten up nung makita kong si Tyrone ito!
“OMG, Ty! You’re here? I threw myself at him for a hug. He hugged me for a second before he pulled away.
“The show’s not yet over. I’m here to make sure you wouldn’t drool at any of those guys.”
