If ours were a sane and a healthy system of education, our schools, colleges, and universities would produce for our country the best farmers, the best rice and corn growers, the best fishermen, the best vegetable growers, the best workers and laborers, the best doctors, lawyers, judges, engineers, architects, economists, law enforcers, accountants, managers, writers, editors, radio broadcasters, TV telecasters, and indeed, the best men and women elected or appointed to be high officials of the best of government anywhere in the world.
But due to, if not because of, our sick and insane system of education, we yearly produced for our country the best liars, the best cheaters, swindlers, robbers, traffic violators, kidnappers; burglars, smugglers, forgers, fakers, shoplifters, tax evaders, drug dealers and pushers; in fact, our lawmakers are among the first and the best lawbreakers. We are indeed, a sick nation of criminals.
The Philippines, the only Catholic country in Asia since the 16th century, is the only country in the world that employs nationwide, more than 3,000,000 security guards to guard and protect its banks, stores, shopping malls, hospitals, condo buildings, repair shops, city halls, bus terminals, train stations, schools premises, health clinics, residential villages, commercial offices, airports, piers, harbors, churches, cathedrals, law offices, etc etc etc. It is probably the only Catholic country in Asia that continues to suffer needlessly from a very sick and insane system of education.
Well, what can one expect from schools, colleges, and universities established in the Philippines? To begin with, they are not educational institutions or places for learning. They are commercial enterprises? Indeed, not fake nor phony, but genuine college diplomas are for sale in the Philippines.
Grade school, high school, and college education for millions of Filipinos is BIG BUSINESS in the Philippines; specially for the greater glory of God up there always ready and available at any time to forgive us of our sins and our crimes down here. - - - Poch Suzara
