There was only one college professor that I have loved, respected, and admired - Professor Teodoro A. Agoncillo - history professor, University of the Philippines.
In his great history book - HISTORY OF THE FILIPINO PEOPLE, he truthfully wrote on page 552:
"Self-deception is the worst tragedy of the Filipinos as a people."
Never, have I ever met such as Filipino professor as truthful and intellectually honest as Prof. Teodoro A. Agoncillo. Never! Teachers in school and college professors all have impressed upon me as frightened individuals in their teaching careers! - - - Poch Suzara
