Look at the sick results of our sick system of education via schools, colleges, and universities in the Philippines. If we were educated to love of country in the Philippines; if we were educated to love fellow- Filipinos, there should be no such horror as drug addiction by millions of educated Filipinos locally, regionally, and nationally.
Bertrand Russell summarized it truthfully: "We are all born ignorant, not stupid. We are made stupid by education."
Look how millions of educated Filipinos would not read or think, but would sooner listen faithfully to the silly bible messages by Pastor Mike Velarde of El Shaddai, or to the preachings by Pastor Eddie Villanueva of Jesus is Lord Church, or to the preachings by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Appointed Son of God church, etc.
I said it before, I say it again: if we Filipinos were the products of a sane system of education, we need not be famous as the Sick Children of Asia. We need not be insane in our politics, in our culture, in our customs and traditions, in our religion, indeed, we need not be poor and sick and morally rotten as drug addicts in our own country. - - - Poch Suzara
