Here I am
Collapsed on my knees
Head dripping deep crimson
Newly calloused palms preventing release
Trumpets blare in my eardrums
And chants of victory ring
Laughing at the corpses
Of their dead enemies
They don't see me
And I can't see them
Because tears blur my eyes
For all my decaying friends
My swords is in shatters
At my planted feet
All because I was a coward
And chose to retreat
I should've died along side them
My brothers
And sisters in arms
But selfish me ran for cover
And now here I sit
All alone
Because I decided
Not to risk going home
And somehow I still lost
And I still ache
Both my mind and my heart
Will still die today
Not by their hand though
For enough they have already won
So with that I grab my dagger
And join the dead daughters and sons
