Rain (freeverse)

The grey,
Daunting
Clouds
Approach
And the once blazing sun
Seems to run away
And hide
Behind the sky
The air swirls
Growing heavier
With the thick scent
Of pure, innocent rain
And people desert the streets
Scared to ruin
All their precious possessions
But I simply do not
The cold concrete
Stills lays beneath
My worn
Chuck Taylors
With faded drawings
All over them
And the sidewalk
Begins to grow darker
Turning into a
Sickly grey feeling
That contrasts
The color flooding
The sky
As the drops
Begin to fall
Cascading over everything
In this world
The beautiful
And the gut wrenching ugly
Alike
It soaks through
My shoes,
My jeans,
My mind
I raise my chin
And look toward the sky
As the dew lands
On my cheeks
Rose colored
Because of the bitter cold
A silent prayer
Runs trough my head
In the middle of
This huge monsoon
"Wash me away too"

A/N: Two free verses in a row, not to mention both being simply okay at best. I'm very sorry about that. I just keep writing them.
