I wish for more nights like this
Nights where the worn clock reads
12:00 AM
In big bold letters
With a bright neon tint
And a midnight blue sky
Lacking in shimmering stars
Reflects in my glossy retinas
More nights where the December
Cool bitterly whips across
My faux leather jacket
And sends deep crimson
Rushing to my nose and cheeks
And the cold metal rail
Plastered in infinite strangers' fingerprints
Slips under my calloused fingers
It's similar to holding hands with the world
So intimate
Yet
So frightening
Captivating poetry flowing from my
Lips
Lined with aching cracks
The fault of the icy breeze
And lyrics flowing from
Half broken headphones
Copying the hums vibrating
Off our own tongues
Into the deserted atmosphere
I will always miss
