Here's to new beginnings
For you and for me
For an opportunity to extend
Our weighted wingsTo where the periwinkle sky
Concealing all other blazing stars
Gawk at the way
We ascend, we flyFrom the tagged concrete
Let our aching feet now lift
And the confining steel bars
Finally decreaseRaise your champagne glass high
And let your busted, fractured lips
Retain the intoxicating buzz
Of a brand new lifeHere's to new beginnings
For you and for me
For now begins
A new melody we're worshipping——
A/N: Happy New Year (or New Year's Eve). I hope you enjoy your new beginning. I'm certainly going to try to. And this means that this is the last poem I publish in 2017, which is quite interesting. Anyhow, i hope it's okay, I know it's not very well written. I apologize. I seem to be lacking ideas on how to revise it.
