"We have to get her out!" Alistair yelled, banging his fist against the cave structure where we here hiding.  I knew he liked Kia, but he really shouldn't let his temper take control of him too much.

"Shut up! We know!" I shouted back, before turning to the resting Ironfang who was curled up on the other side of the cave. "Can you connect us psychically? The water dragon's ability is sonokinesis: their hearing is much more acute than ours, and they can control sound-waves itself."

The dragon nodded, and I tried it out. Can everyone hear me? I heard a squeal in my mind, and glanced at Celeste who was prancing around excitedly.

This is so cool! She continued, bouncing around, before Alistair grabbed her wrist and forced her to sit and stay still.

How are you so happy? Kia is captured thanks to your ignorance! Alistair roared at Celeste, eyes narrowing. You and your trigger happy mouth is what ruined the mission! Now my father will never let me out as a rider, Kia will be lost from us forever, how she'll be able to live without Terris there to reset her charm is a wonder, and we weren't even able to reclaim the artifact! Celeste sniffled, on the verge of crying.

Enough! I shouted at both of them. I'm going to go outside where I can actually focus on a way to get Kia out of it, so if you guys are going to argue please go further into this cave. Ci-Brighttail, please make sure Alistair doesn't kill Celeste. I kicked my legs, swimming out of the cave as I sat outside, thinking about what had just happened at the parliament house.

It had been going perfectly well until a certain little miss Celeste had decided to announce she was a lady and the daughter of the duchess and that she would refuse to attend such meetings, but since the only country with a duchess is Lukar and Terrande was a democratic country, our cover was blown.

Then there was the fact that my mother was a freaking water dragon. So I was half dragon? How did that work? It was one thing to know that your father lived in this underwater utopia for 10 years and not tell anyone, and another thing to actually elope with one of their residents and create a child with them. The child being me.

A grunt came from behind me, and quietly casted the translation spell, and realized it was Ironfang. "What are you thinking about?" He said, and it was the first time I had heard his actual voice, instead of his psychic one. It was deep, with a smooth undertone, the kind that you'd call charming. Me, I'm strictly on a no relationship life, so I wouldn't end up like Kia and Alistair. Heartbroken puppies.

"Why do you ask me? You're psychic." I knew he wasn't quite next to me, as I sat on one of the perches and closed my eyes. I vaguely noted that I was speaking in dragon back to him, and ignored it. "Can't you just read my mind?"

"I try not to do that too much." he replied. "Alistair has been my rider for years, so I have permission to delve into his mind, but for a girl I met only a month ago, I try not to."

"I'm half dragon." I stated bluntly. "Not just speaking your dragon language, I mean I'm actually half dragon. I have dragon blood running through my veins."

"How can that be?" He asked with a scoff. "Your father is very clearly human. He's a mage."

"Salvador Helix did go to Volna. He stayed here for 10 years, his scholarly mind attached to this peaceful and educational society. He met a girl, and stayed for her, and he left with a child. Me." I sighed, trying not to move as I attempted to meditate. "Try finding that out in a day, and then have your mother capture one of your friends. She knows you, Ciana and I are actually from Terrande, but doesn't know that I'm her daughter. She's just keeping Kia to maintain the image, or that's what I hope."
