Terris blasting us all out of the water was a bad idea.  In a nutshell, it felt like being cannon-balled out of the sea at the speed of a fire dragon, then being dropped onto the ground with the same force as being hit by an earth dragon stampede.  Back when we were still training with the dragons, I’d accidentally wandered into earth dragon territory once, and let me tell you, it was not cool.  Thankfully, Ironfang was there to toss me out of harm's way with his mind, although I landed on the floor with a bruise that lasted for weeks.  Alistair stood aside, his face a dangerously pale sheen of green.  He looked like he was about to puke.

“Are you guys alright?” Terris asked with a huge grin on her face. Apparently, it didn’t seem obvious that she could've helped us on a more gentle landing, since she herself was floating harmlessly above the ground, her ring flashing grey. She flicked her hand, and she slowly lowered herself, before she cupped her hands. “Starfire!” She yelled, her voice echoing further and further through the desolate lands in between the cliff entrance of Dagat to the bustling country of Lukar, all the way to what I thought was Terrande. I covered my ears from the loudness of her voice, briefly remembering the water dragons’ screams.  I shivered.

A blur of green and blue appeared before us, and the strangely colored fire dragon appeared before us. She snorted, and suddenly, I understood what she said. Had fun down in that creepy water place? Wait. Gav, what are you doing. Why are you, you?

“Orb of Silverra?” I asked, hefting it up. “Turned him back into a human.”

“Speaking about that, can you turn back into a dragon? Looking at you two is sort of messing with my mind. You’re like twins. And don’t-” Terris paused, glaring at my apparent brother, “tear my cloak. I love my cloak, and there are dozens of inventions in there that might explode if you accidentally shatter the glass it’s in. Even though it’s highly unlikely.”

How did I hear you from Terrande?  Did you use the eníschysi spell?

“Echoes.” Terris grinned.  “I yelled loud enough for my voice to echo all the way Lukar, and then even past that to Terrande.” I was slightly baffled.  I didn't know how that worked at all, but I think Alistair was more confused than I was.

“Erm, guys? I don’t speak dragon?” He muttered, and I chuckled slightly. It was cute when his eyebrows twisted into a frown, and he began to pout.

“Oh we’re just talking about h-” Kia don’t! Don’t tell him. He’s human. Starfire suddenly shouted, with a few clicks and grunts.

I’m human. Terris is human. Why can’t he know?  I replied.

I’m not fully human. You’re a dragon. He’s the crown prince. You can’t give him the orb. The orb must only be held by dragon hands. If that vile King gets his slimy hands on the orb, he’ll take over the entirety of Drakon. Terris scowled, her ring glowing blue now. Don’t worry, I’m not speaking dragon. Translation spell.

You’re not fully human? What? Is your father-  Starfire started.

Father is fully human. My mother, however, who doesn’t even know who I am, is a dragon. I only found out a few hours ago. Don’t blame me, Adara. That’s technically how I managed to scream your name. Water dragon genes, I guess. Terris shrugged.

“Who’s Adara?” I asked out loud, getting a confused glance from Alistair. I clapped a hand over my mouth, and sighed. “Let’s just get back to the Palace.” I climbed onto Starfire, or Adara, I guess, while Terris joined me on her. Alistair glanced at Gavin, who rolled his eyes. Give me some privacy, man. My brother shuffled behind a couple of rocks, and threw Terris’s cloak back at her, earning a sharp glare at his direction as a sudden roar filled the area.
