Cami P.O.V."Please take your seats!" Ms. Girmine yelled over the chattering students. She has been trying to get my History class under control for the past twenty minutes, while I've been reading silently. It hasn't been working out, considering that Louis and Brian are hanging out with their buddies and yelling loudly, throwing paper balls at a boy in front of them.
There are many girls surrounding them, including Talyia who clearly never got the correct hint. There's a girl I don't recognize hanging on Louis and she whispers something in his ear, making him laugh. It seems as if she's innocently hanging out, but considering how pretty she is, I wouldn't be surprised if Louis took a liking toward her. I avert my eyes and focus back on my book, jealously creeping up behind me.
"That's it! You all get F's! Except this side of the class!" She yelled angrily, pointing at my row. No one payed attention to her at all as she stormed out of the room. Sometimes reading gets you in the right places. I won't be surprised if the principal walks in.
I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear and pulled up the sleeves of my jean jacket, getting more comfortable in my chair. I could feel someone eyes on me and I looked across the room locking eyes with Harry.
I forgot he had this class. I've been so wrapped up in my book that I hadn't payed attention. He's in every one of my classes except chemistry.
I avert my eyes from his and the bell finally rings, signaling the end of the day. The Fault In Our Stars is shoved into my bag, my feet carrying myself to the door as quickly as I can. I'm surprisingly the first one out the door, until I feel a hand on my shoulder, tugging me back into the room. The rest of the class files out before my mouth has the chance to react and the door is closed.
I'm spun around and Louis is standing there, a smirk on his face.
"You didn't talk to me at all, all period long. Is something bothering you?" He asked, grasping my hand.
"Uh, no, I was just really into my book." I lied through my teeth, chuckling slightly. He smiled widely and fully took my hand In his.
"I know. I watched you , you only looked up once or twice." he chuckled. "I like to look at the way your eyes gaze over every word. It makes you radiate even more when you are so fascinated by simple words."
"Oh."
"Yeah. I heard from my mum that Harry and Anne are having dinner with you guys tonight. Are you going to be okay with that? I can't be there, my mum and my sisters are making me tag along for new furniture." He chuckled apologetically and intertwined his fingers with mine fully, his perfectly sitting with mine.
"I'll be fine. Halfway through dinner, my mum will be told that a stomach ache is bothering her poor daughter and she must go to her room." I fake pouted and his hand grazed over my cheekbone.
"That's my girl." He laughed and I rolled my eyes.
"Well I have to get going, I have some errands to run in the next hour. Good luck with your mum." I smiled and kissed his cheek, squeezing his hand once more before letting go and walking around him.
"Be safe." I heard him mumble groggily, before I walked into the buzzing hallway. He walked the opposite way from me as I made my way down the corridor, bustling bodies practically suffocating me.
I almost tripped once or twice getting to my locker but I quickly put I'm the code, opening it and showing my books into my bag quickly. My mum doesn't enjoy me walking home with the 'delinquents' of school since we all live in the same nieghborhood. My mind listens to her anyway at least, and before I know it my feet are practically jogging down the sidewalk and turning the corner to AlderFort Drive. I can hear a crowd of students behind me laughing and talking but I quickly place my headphones in my ears, blocking out the world around me.
My house is still a good ten minutes away.
Great. My fingers twiddle through the "Mellow Music" playlist. It contained music from Paramore to Sleeping With Sirens to The 1975. Latch, by Disclosure starts to play and I bob my head to the music.
"Now I've got you in my space,
I won't let go of you..."Suddenly a earbud is yanked out of my ear and I look up to see a blond male, average height , with a lip piercing looking down at me, my left earbud twirling and his fingers. His aura shows cockiness, a smirk playing on his bright pink lips. He's clad in a black Ramones T-shirt with the sleeves cut off, paired with black ripped skinny jeans and white converses. He didn't look half bad.. intimidating definitely but bad boy nonetheless. It made me quite skeptical...
"Uh... hi?" I said to him awkwardly and he leaned on the railing of the house next to us. rolling the earbud back and forth between his finger. He chewed his gum ruthlessly and narrowed his eyes at me, his smirk even more prominent then before.
"You're Louis's girlfriend right?" He raised an eyebrow and I tucked my other headphone in my pocket, yanking the one he had from his grip and placing it in there also.
"Correction; best friend actually..." I started but he waved his hand around.
"Yeah yeah, whatever, so... you should start hanging out with us." He gestured toward the group of teens chasing after each other in the street, one of them blaring a screamo song. My eyes widened when one of then kicked a car's windshield.
"Oh I'm sorry, but I don't think that's a good idea." I smiled trying to be polite, and trying to get as far away as possible.
"Ouch, rejected. Didn't realize you were still a prude Camilla." He sucked in a sharp breath, digging his hands in his pockets.
"Excuse me? I don't even know you."
"Didn't say you know me, but I know you. You're little miss perfect since primary, always getting straight A's, wearing the preppiest clothes, never getting into trouble. I guess nothings changed. I'm giving you an invitation to a whole new world Camilla, a world where you won't be judged and you'll be accepted for who you are. Louis used to be one of us at the beginning of sophomore year, but now he hangs out with ... them." His words laced with disgust and I didn't blame him. "You don't hang out with them do you? We are practically enemies."
"Uh, no... at least I don't think..." I stuttered over my words, because honestly I didn't all the time. Only when I was forced to.
"Great, then the offer is on the table. You know where to find us Camilla." He winked, biting his lip ring and walking toward his friends.
"Wait, you never told me your name!" I said and he turned around, smirking, sticking his hand out.
"Luke. Luke Hemmings."
