Chapter 10

The next morning I woke up in a good mood again. This was very unusual for me because I’ve never been a morning person.

I got up and had a shower as usual and decided to straighten my hair today. So I plugged the straighteners in and went downstairs to look for something to eat. I got a few pieces of fruit and went back upstairs. My mum still wasn’t home so I had the house to myself and decided to play my music while I was getting ready.

I felt like today was going to be a good day. I got ready for school then got all my things together and left the house. Ashton was stood lent against the wall, waiting for me.

‘Morning cutie’ he said and made me blush

‘Good morning Ashton’ I said smiling

We walked to school together as always and he carried on walking when we got to the gates and I walked over to Lauren and Erin.

‘Good morning’ I said

‘Morning’ they both said

‘As if it’s only Tuesday. I’m done with this week already’ Lauren said

‘I know… But guys guess what!’ Erin said with a big smile on her face

‘What?!’ We both asked excitedly

‘Luke asked me to out again this weekend!’ she said

‘Oooh check you going on another date’ Lauren said

‘This is too cute! We better be your bridesmaids’ I said jokingly

‘Don’t jump too far ahead will you?’ she laughed

We went to walk through the gates and it was quieter than usual. We just walked through and no one said anything.

We sat outside until the bell went and I headed over to Maths. When I got there Ashton was already there sat down.

‘Hello again’ he said

‘Hello’ I said

I hated Maths so much and so did Ashton so we both worked together to make it a bit easier.

But not even 10 minutes into the lesson Ashton and I was asked to go to the head teacher’s office.

‘Shit, I completely forgot about yesterday!’ Ashton said

‘So did I! But I didn’t get in that much trouble the first time so it probably won’t be that bad’

We arrived at Mr Parson’s office and Ashton knocked on.

We heard him shout ‘come in’ so we walked in and he did not look happy.

‘Jade. Really? Again. I’ll talk to you in a minute. Ashton, why did you start a fight with Ben after school?’

‘Because of what he called Jade… He shouldn’t have said it and it’s pathetic and actually really cowardly because he didn’t expect her to hear it’ he said. I didn’t think he’d say anything, let alone all of that. It made me smile how he was happy to stick up for me. He really did care about me and it was really heart-warming.

‘Doesn’t mean you can go around starting fights Mr Irwin. Not even a week in and you’re hitting people, I thought you was going to be a quiet student’ Mr Parson’s said

‘I am, usually’ he said

‘Well you can join Jade in an hours detention tomorrow after school’ Mr Parson’s said angrily

‘Now Jade, I don’t think that’s going to be enough for you. I considered suspending you for a day or two but students tend to enjoy days off and I see it more of a reward than a punishment. So, I’m giving you one more chance. If you have to be sent to my office for anything like this again and you will be expelled from this school. No coming back, do I make myself clear?’
