Chapter 24

The last day of school had finally arrived and I couldn't have been happier. I woke up and didn't even care about how early it. I played my music as I got ready and was actually really happy.

'Good morning' I sang as I bounced downstairs

'Morning sweetheart' my mum said 'Wow someone's happy'

'Last day of school. Ever. How could I not be happy?' I beamed

'Well I hope you have a lovely day' she smiled

I smiled and grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl and headed out the door

'Well don't you look stunning' smiled Ashton. I had made a big effort due to it being the last day

'Thank you babe' I said putting my hand out for him to hold.

We walked to school and was talking about what we were going to do over the summer

'I have so much planned for us for over the summer! We're gunna have so much fun' Ashton said smiling

'Plans?' I asked impressed 'Ooh like what?'

'Now that bit my princess, is a surprise!'

I just smiled at him then kissed his cheek.

When we got to school we looked around at everyone talking to the younger students because most of them were probably never going to see each other again. I knew apart from a selected few I wouldn't be.

The whole day was pretty fun as we didn't really do any work and it all went rather fast. Before I knew it, it was time for our final assembly.

We all gathered in the hall and Mr Parsons gave a big speech about all our "hard work" and how he'll miss us and knows we'll all do great. All the typical shit a teacher says on the last day of school.

As a slideshow of pictures of us all came up and videos of things that had happened over the past 5 years, some people began to cry. To be honest the only crying I'd be doing was with happiness. I hated this school with a passion and couldn't wait to finally be released.

Suddenly my first year picture came up on the screen and I froze. It was the worst picture ever. I had messy hair and chubby cheeks and was grinning like an idiot.

'Aw babe' Ashton giggled and poked me in the side

'Shut up' I said pushing him lightly.

When it was all over we walked out of school and Ashton slipped his hand into mine as we walked out of the gates.

'Well' he sighed 'That's it! After the exams we never have to come back to this place again'

'Thank goodness for that' I said

'Erm Jade. Could I have a quick word' Mr Parsons shouted

'Oh fuck' I muttered

'Good luck. I'll see you in a min' Ashton whispered, letting go of my hand.

'Oh don't look so worried Miss Healy' Mr Parsons laughed 'I just want to say that I'm proud of how you acted since you came back from suspension. You've worked really hard and I know you'll do well'

Wow. This was surprising.

'Why thank you Sir' I said and awkwardly smiled

'I'm sorry it came to suspension but you must understand Jade that I had no other choice. It would have looked like favouritism if I wouldn't have' he explained

'I completely understand. It taught me a lesson and gave me time to think' I said. Bullshit. I didn't understand at all why I got suspended while Ben got nothing.
