Chapter 45

The next morning I woke up and had to think where I was for a few seconds. It felt so strange being back at home, but I liked it.

I left Ashton to sleep some more and tip toed my way out of my room and down the stairs.

I poured myself some cereal and got the milk out of the fridge and went to pour it in but felt someone behind me

'Ashton!' I shouted as I felt his arms around me

'Why did you leave me?' He groaned down my ear, resting his chin on my shoulder

'You looked so cute asleep, I didn't want to disturb you' I said, turning my head to look at him

'Well anyway, good morning' he began pushing his face into my neck and I soon felt little kisses being placed all down my neck

'Aw babe' I whispered

Seconds later I heard my mum enter the kitchen and Ashton stepped away from me quicker than anything

My mum looked at us for a few seconds before greeting us. I had come to the conclusion that it was probably because Ashton was stood wearing joggers and no shirt. But I had no reason to complain, I was enjoying the view. I winked at him before returning to my cereal, which I had actually forgotten about before grabbing a bowl for Ashton and doing some for him.

We sat down and my mum joined us, I thought it'd be a bit awkward but it was kind of nice.

'You know, you two do make a lovely couple' my mum said after a minute or so of silence

'What makes you say that all of a sudden? You didn't used to think so' I said

My mum shot me a look as if to tell me to shut up, I giggled to myself

'I just see how happy you are together and its nice' she continued

If only she knew the half of it.

'I'm sure you was happy with dad at first though' I said without any thought.

Shit. Why did I say that? We never ever spoke of him. What the hell came over me. The thought of the change between me and Ashton depending on whether we was together or apart got the better of me and I just wanted to know what it was like for her, but I didn't actually mean to ask.

'Well, yes. But that's different' she stuttered

I saw Ashton shoot me a look out of the corner of my eye but I didn't look at him

'I'm sorry mum, I didn't mea-'

'No its fine. Anyway, what are you two up to today?' She said swiftly changing the subject

'Were going out with our friends for a bit' I said, still massively regretting what I'd said

'Ah well that's nice' she smiled weakly.

As soon as we'd finished breakfast me and Ashton went back up to my room.

'What the fuck was that about?' He said sounding angry

'I didn't mean to ask her it just-'

'No that's not why I'm asking Jade. Why did you say that after she said we're happy together? Are you not happy with me?'

'Of course I am, I was just asking'

'You don't seem it'

'Woah wait, so you can ask me things like this but the second I ask you anything similar I get bitched at? No Ashton, I don't think so. Its not one rule for me and another for you' I said raising my voice
