Chapter 17

On Monday morning I really didn't want to get up for school but it felt kinda different this time. How would I tell my friends what happened. Would I even tell them?

I spent the day with Ashton again the day before and he asked me to be his girlfriend and I was so happy how my life was going at the moment. Ashton made me really happy and I felt so close to him. I'm glad we were friends first because nothing was awkward at all.

When I was ready I walked downstairs and mum was just getting ready to leave.

'Morning sweetie' she said smiling

'Morning' I smiled back

'I'm going to your grandmothers again after work and I'm not sure if I'm staying'

'Okay. I'm probably going out myself anyway'

'With Ashton I presume?' she said

'Why do you presume?'

'You spent all your time with him now. Apart from like 10 days you've spent the last 6 months together every day' she said laughing

'And? Is that a problem?' I asked

'No. I'm just saying. It's nice you have a close friend. Don't fall out with Lauren and Erin though, you can't trust guys and sometimes you need your girls around you'

'If you must know I haven't fell out with them and I can trust Ashton just as much as anyone else, if not more' I spat

'Oh alright okay. Don't shout. Come on let's go, we'll go out together and I'll lock up'

We walked out of the house and I saw Ashton lent against the wall at the end of the path.

'So you must be Ashton' My mum said smiling at him

'Muuum' I said, the last thing I wanted was for her to start talking to him.

'Yeah. Nice to meet you Mrs Healy' he said politely

'Nice to finally meet you too. So you and my daughter seem to be very close friends I see'

'Mum were gunna be late. We're gunna have to go' I said pulling Ashton's arm 'Bye!'

'Why did you do that?' Ashton asked laughing

'Because she's annoying' I said

He shook his head and grabbed my hand as we walked.

When we got to school we just walked straight through the gates. It felt like everyone was looking at us.

'Hey Jade!' Michael shouted 'I need to talk to you later!'

'Oh... Okay' I said

'What's that about?' Ashton asked

'I honestly have no idea'

'Look at that' Ben shouted

'Great' I whispered

'Look at the two rejects holding hands. Why are you wasting your time with him Jade? You're too good for him. You was popular and as soon as he gets here you started being weird and a lot quieter'

'Shut the fuck up Ben' I shouted

'You've changed. You're a fucking weirdo now' he said laughing

I saw Calum grab his arm and shake his head and he just laughed again.

I began to run over to him but Ashton grabbed me and pulled me away.

As we got further into the school grounds we sat down and Ashton turned to me.
