Delta's POV:
Homework at the Davenport house had somehow turned into anything but homework.
Zadie and I were sitting at the cyberdesk, halfway through our algebra problems. Well, I was halfway through algebra
Zadie was halfway through doodling little cartoon frogs wearing sunglasses in the margins of her worksheet.
Chase was sitting beside her, trying very hard not to judge her doodles.
Adam was off to the side, scrolling on his phone.
Bree was flipping through her physics book trying to figure out what she needed to study.
She swatted at the air.
"What is that?"
A tiny fly buzzed around her.
Chase barely looked up from his homework.
"Bree, relax. It's just a fly."
She gave him a look.
"Well, why is it bothering me when the foul, ripe stench of Adam is right there?"
"Lucky undies. Nine days in a row, and no strikes," Adam smiled proudly. "That's science."
I grimaced.
Zadie was the only one who had noticed.
Things between Adam and I had been awkward.
Every time I would try to talk to him about it, he'd brush it off.
The lab doors slid open and Leo walked inside laughing.
"You look ridiculous," he told Bree.
"Well, yeah," she glared. "You would too if you had some flying thing attacking you."
"Would I?"
Leo held out his hand.
The fly actually landed on it.
Bree blinked.
"How'd you do that?"
"I talk to insects," Leo shrugged. "They call me the fly whisperer."
Adam gasped.
"You can talk to flies? Ask him why bees are such jerks."
"Guys, Leo's messing with you," Chase sighed. "That's Mr. Davenport's Spy Fly. He designed it for recon missions."
He reached over and pulled a metal canister from Leo's backpack.
"You see, the head is a tiny camera." Chase grabbed Leo's wrist, "He's controlling the entire thing with a track ball on this watch."
Leo sighed, turning to CHase.
"Is there anything you don't ruin?"
Chase thought about it for a few seconds.
"Nope."
He looked over.
"Leo, I don't think Mr. Davenport would approve of you using his expensive gadgets as toys."
"Well then, he shouldn't have gone to rock and roll fantasy camp."
Leo shrugged.
"Hello! You're almost forty. You can't rock anyone's fantasy."
Bree held out her hand.
"Can I see it?"
Leo immediately took a step backward.
