Zadie's POV:
By now, everyone at school had heard about the events that took place the other night. The Davenport's kept asking if I was okay, and I truly am. I haven't slept better before. Knowing that Brad is gone for good and in the slammer brings me peace. When Davenport found out about what happened, he requested that Brad be sent to a prison across the country, so he was looking out for me which I really appreciated.
Every morning was the same. I got up, got ready for school, and was greeted at the door by Delta, Leo, and the Davenport's. They don't believe that I'm fine. After trauma, people usually say they're fine when they really aren't, but this is different. I rest easy at night knowing that I don't ever have to think about Brad again.
This morning was the same. I got up, got ready, and was greeted at the door. "Listen, you guys, I really appreciate you coming here every morning, but I seriously am fine. Can we please just go back to normal? How things were before instead of everyone treating me like I'm some kind of delicate thing that's gonna break any second now?" I finally snapped, but I remained calm.
"Zadie, we're just worried-" I cut Leo off.
"Yes, I know, I know you're just worried, and all of you have been so kind, but I'm over being kind about it so listen up. I'm gonna go to school right now and you guys are not gonna wait for me when I go to the bathroom, you're not gonna watch me eat my lunch like some hawk, and lastly, you do not help me get my books from my locker or so help me I will shove you in it."
"Yeah, okay, she's fine." Delta said, turning to the rest.
"Thank you." I said.
We got to school and everything went back to normal. I fell on my butt walking down the stairs, and Chase and Leo laughed at me. We were sitting on the round bench in the middle of the main hall and Chase was complaining about the yearbook. "Did you guys see the yearbook? Everybody but me got a 'Most Likely To...' even Leo!"
"What? Let me see that. 'Most likely never to get a 'most likely.'' I'm on the board!" Leo cheered.
"Ooh, what was mine?" I asked, taking hold of the yearbook. "'Most likely too fall down the stairs.'" That's so true." I laughed.
"What about mine?" Delta asked, peering on with me.
"Hmm, 'Most likely to help Zadie up." I told her.
"Wow, also so true."
"Well, that proves it. I'm completely invisible at this school." Chase said.
"Chase, that's not true. If you were invisible, I couldn't do this." Adam said, punching Chase.
"Chase, just because you weren't nominated doesn't mean you're invisible." I told him.
"Oh, really? Yeah? What's this? "Chip Davenport". I'm a misnamed question mark!" Chase said.
"Yeah, you might have a point." I admitted.
"Listen up, snot-buckets! Don't forget to sign up for the annual Mission Creek High talent show. Auditions are after school, and we'll be judged, by moi. Chances are that if I don't like you, you won't get through, and I don't like any of you, so good luck." Perry announced.
"Talent shows are wrong! There are no winners or losers in creative expression." Owen stood up.
"Stick a paint brush in it, Emo Sabe!" Perry scoffed.
"I refuse to stand by while that woman crushes the artistic souls of our student body. I'm gonna go sketch my feelings." Owen said, leaving. He's kinda a weird one, I then looked to Adam and Chase. Never mind, I don't have a right to say that.
