Delta's POV:

Zadie and I were in the lab, on our phones, while Adam and Chase finished getting ready for school. I was sitting by Adam on the cyber desk as he put his shoes on, sniffing the inside of one of them. "Ah, smells like something died in here! Whoa, something did die in here! Chase, look at this!"

"No." Chase answered bluntly, causing Zadie to stifle a laugh without looking up from her phone.

"Well, at least tell me if it's fur or mold."

"No." Chase answered again. Giving up, Adam went ahead and put his shoe on, but tore through the toe of it. "Adam, what did you do to your shoe?"

"I guess I don't know my own strength. She same thing happened yesterday with my underwear." Adam stated, causing Zadie and I to look at each other and laugh...oh, our dirty minds can easily get us into trouble. "Oh, that reminds me, Delta, I got you a new headband for gym class." He put the elastic of his torn underwear around my head like a head band.

"Man, Mr. Davenport warned us about this. As we get older, our chips have to be re-calibrated to adjust for our growth." Chase explained, walking over to the small table in the corner of the lab.

"Oh, well, then yours will never have to be adjusted." Adam laughed. "'Cause your body doesn't grow, get it?" He looked to Chase for a response. "I'm saying you're small."

"I get it!" Chase shouted in annoyance. "When Mr. Davenport gets back he can re-calibrate your super strength." Chase, Zadie, and I were standing by the door ready to go to school when I asked Adam, "Can you toss me my backpack?" He lightly tossed me my backpack, and it lightly went through the door. "Or we could do it now." Chase stated, talking about the re-calibration. Chase set his stuff down and told Adam to get into his capsule.

"Ah, but I like being ridiculously strong." Adam said, moving backwards to his capsule. "I'm like King Kong without the little lady in his hand." Adam paused and looked to me. "Go ahead, Deli. Jump in." He put his hand out.

"Go." Chase told him.

"Fine." Adam huffed as he got into his capsule.

"Alright, let's see, Adam's size parameters: six-one, hundred and seventy-five pounds." Chase typed.

"Make it a hundred and eighty. Had a big breakfast." Adam patted his stomach.

"Since your strength has intensified, I'm gonna dial it back from an eight to a six." Chase explained. To be honest, that might not have been the best idea to tell him that.

"Hold on, you can adjust my strength?" Adam asked and Chase nodded. "Well, don't dial me down, make me a ten!" Yep, thought it was a bad idea.

"No way. That would be like giving a stick of dynamite to a...well, you." The lights in his capsule blinked for a minute. "There. Done. Now hurry, we're gonna be late for school." Chase told us as we all walked out of the lab...well, except for Adam.

"Uh, yeah, I'll be right there! I just have to not do something for minute." Adam called. He is definitely up to something.

We were at breakfast at the school when we went to sit down at our normal table. I pulled out the chair and of course, it was the wobbly one. "Ah, great, I always get stuck with the wobbly chair." I pouted.

"Here, hold my tray and I'll fix it for you." Adam told me, as I took his tray. Yeah, he fixed it alright...by breaking off the back of it. Chase, Zadie, and I all shared the same look at him.

"Adam." Chase gritted before turning to see that everyone was staring at Adam.

"Budget cuts. Am I right?" I attempted to cover. "The evidence is all around us, people."
