A handsome, Filipino-American photographer went to the same school where Erik went to school in New York. He is charming, down to earth, unlike Erik's previous image as playboy, partygoer etc, even if Matthew has the looks and money he still likes conservative simple girl that will sweep him off his feet, he never had a serious girlfriend because he feels like he hasn't find the one yet, but it seems like he finally found her but – she is already taken, by Erik – Roan is his ideal girlfriend, wife material and has a very good character and personality.
