Chapter 24 - The Deceit and Scandal

Cassandra’s party has started. It was around 9 in the evening. There were about 50 people, including Matthew. He was talking to one of the models she invited. The visitors are a mixture of models, singers, actresses and actors and some politically-connected people. She also invited some from the press and entertainment magazines, so she can be featured.

Cassandra was just looking from her kitchen, she excused herself and got one more bottle of red wine…this was her favorite.

She can’t believe Erik rejected her again earlier today. But she left him rattled, and it made her satisfied. At least she can still affect him, whether it was because of irritation or fear not even like or love – at least Erik still has a sort of emotion for her – be it good or bad, she will take it. That’s a little desperate she thought, but that’s her, desperate bordering obsessed.

Earlier she just received the photos she asked someone to take. 

Those were pictures of her by the window of Erik’s condo, her kissing Erik, they were good shots. 

Very revealing and even if they both know what the truth behind the pictures, those who don’t have the firsthand knowledge of what exactly happened would think there’s more behind those pictures. 

Compromising pictures – especially for someone who was newly engaged-like Erik.

If she releases the pictures, the political career of his father, the incumbent President will surely get dragged into this controversy, and Erik’s reputation will once again be questioned – Roan’s trust on him will get tarnished, if not totally ruined.

She hopes. She is still weighing all her options.

She can’t believe her luck, she was right to play spy on Erik and Roan to find out what their weakness. 

How she can plan her attack better. The investigator she hired to follow their every move got a break.

She already knew they are planning to get married, but she didn’t know they were planning to have two weddings! A civil one first and then the church wedding.

She asked her investigator to plant a bug inside the wedding coordinator’s office.

So she was able to learn all there is to know about their plan.

She didn’t plan to get Roan kidnapped, she has different plans for her, but with that knowledge, her plans changed altogether.  

She told herself earlier when she went to Erik’s condo, that if he falls for her seduction, she will not do anything to Roan.

But rejected and angered, she proceeded with plan B.

Soon, her visitors would get the other surprise she prepared for them. A controversial one.

Roan was still asleep. She was knocked down by the unusual smell. She was transferred from her hotel to another place. She wouldn’t know anything. She will know everything when she wakes up in the morning.

Erik was just waking up in his condo. He slowly opened his eyes, he lifted his left hand where his watch is: 9:10 in the evening. He tried to get up but he felt a splitting headache.
