Chapter 13- Two People In Love

The Woman of the Hour

Roan is dressed up, she is wearing a black wonderfully easy gown in floaty silk chiffon with a bias-cut skirt, it drapes beautifully and flatters the figure that Roan is constantly hiding. The fitted bodice offers full coverage and is shirred for a touch of softness.

Roan is a sight to behold, she is stunning tonight. She looks classy and sexy at the same time.

She lets her hair loose. She is beaming with love, there is a twinkle in her eyes that radiates from within her – she has the look of content and love.

Her Mom came in her room soon after Erik got out of her room. She sighed with relief. She knew she is old enough, engaged and soon to get married – but parents are parents.

When it comes to their daughter they refuse to believe they will one day leave them, get kissed and stolen away from them – reality hits only when they see her walking down the altar and afterwards having grandkids – after that they won’t care too much about you, just the grandkids.

She smiled, contended at the image she sees in the mirror.

She exhaled out the nervous and uneasiness she is feeling inside.

“Engagement jitters?” Roan thought, “if there is such thing as that.”

She tries to calm herself and sat on the bed, she held her hand and looked at the engagement ring Erik gave her.

“Kahit yata hindi to tunay, I’d still like it – kay Erik kaya galing.Hayyy.”

“Hoy…huwag ng magdaydream.for real na nga anak eh…” her mom suddenly told her teasingly.

“Nay...wala lang..I just can’t believe it kasi, it’s surreal.” Roan said with dreamy look on her face.

“Umayos ka nga, ganda ganda mo anak ha! Mana ka talaga sakin. Act like a lady ha!” laughing her Mom said.

“Wow, English yon Nay ha!”

“Sssh prinactice ko yan ng ilang araw haha.”

They were still laughing when they heard a knock on the door. Roan’s mom opened it. It was Roan’s Dad.

He hugs Roan and kissed her cheek. He looks at her with an obvious pride.

Teary eyed he said, “Anak, ang saya ko para sayo. Sana nga alagaan ka ni Erik at naway pang-forever ang pagmamahalan nyo.”

Roan hugged him tightly and she was also teary eyed.

“Sana nga Tay, alam ko naman na mahal ako ni Erik. Kakayanin ko to, mahal ko masyado ang lokong yon eh.” she said fighting of tears.
