Chapter 5- Going Home

CDG, Paris Charles de Gaulle airport

Paris, France

It was around 9:00 in the morning. After a quick breakfast, Erik and Roan hurried to the airport to catch their flight at 12:00 noon. They packed their bags last night and so they only need to wake up early to take the hotel shuttle which will take them to the airport .

Roan bought pasalubong for her family – that's what they told her before she left, not to forget their pasalubong. Small Paris souvenirs – key chains, shirts. She was happy to go back to the Philippines.

She loved Paris, but there's no place like home – being with your family. She can't imagine living too far away from them. Their family is close, they love and support each other, even her brothers who always love to tease her, being the only girl – they were very protective of her, especially her relationship with Erik, they thought it wasn't possible, that their relationship won't work – they were realistic, they know their love story is compared to that of "heaven and earth" – that can only exist parallel to each other, and will never meet.

But they proved them wrong – Erik proved them wrong, he was the exception. Sometimes even heaven can kiss earth and embrace it – literally not possible, but in love, it was.

Roan was smiling with the thought of her family, her memory of the start of their love story – her reminiscing got cut off with the announcement of their flight being delayed for one hour. There was an engine problem and they are to wait for another plane to replace it.

Erik was obviously pissed but it was out of anybody's hands, flight delays always happen. He knows it being the one who traveled most.

Erik asked Roan if he wanted to look around at the shops at the airport. They already checked their bags so they only have their carry on bags with them. They are free to walk around and shop if they want to.

Roan agreed, they headed towards one of the shops – it has books, magazines, souvenirs, snacks, duty free items. Roan scanned the books and magazines, maybe she'll get a book or magazine to read while waiting for their flight.

She picked a book by James Patterson entitled "Kill Alex Cross", she likes James Patterson, she also picked a magazine "Vogue". Erik bought some snacks and water.

They went back to the waiting area where their boarding gate is.

Erik told Roan he just need to work on something on his laptop while waiting. Roan said "Ok, I'm just going to read these," referring to the book and magazine.

Roan started with the magazine, she likes to look at the fashion trends somehow even if she is not as glamorous as them she fancies being able to have the guts to maybe one day dress up like the models featured in the magazine. As she was scanning the page, her attention got caught by a feature article, it is about the feature on the man behind the lens of fashion shows and other famous international events...it was a feature about Matthew.

There he was, a half page featuring a couple of pictures of him on assignment, behind the camera. She smiled, he looks so cute in the pictures. He was very serious when he works. She now remembers he mentioned he works for a fashion magazine.

She was going to show it to Erik but he looked so serious as he types on his laptop.

She will show it to him later at the plane. She opened one of the bag of chips he bought and took a handful, then started reading the book.

Erik, engrossed in his thought was actually finishing up a business proposal he is putting together for a sports & rehabilitation facility in Cebu. He wanted to finish it so he can show it to his dad, the President of the Philippines.

Roan offered him some snack but he refused saying he is not hungry yet, he asked Roan if she is okay. He gave her a quick kiss on her cheeks, Roan gently slapped him on his arm teasingly.

"Hoy, nakakadami ka na ah! Madami ka ng stolen kisses!" she told him while laughing. She puts down the book she is reading and held his face. Their faces were inches away, Erik forgot about the proposal he was working on and was facing Roan now. He was holding her waist and was tempted to kiss her on her sexy lips. He would just like to taste her lips and engulf her in his arms. His nose is touching the tip of her nose. He was almost on the brink of kissing her

Roan mesmerized, wasn't moving away either, she seem to just wait for his queue. Her breathing is labored, she can feel his breath, the scent of him still fresh from the shower...their eyes locked...all the people around them were disregarded, it feels like it was just the two of them.

And they almost kissed if not for a loud cry of the baby next to their seat. The baby awakened and started with a loud cry. Erik and Roan smiled to each other, they forgot for a moment where they were. Erik shaking his head as he brushed his hair with his fingers and winked at Roan instead "The baby didn't want to see it haha," he teased, "Censored raw kasi," Roan agreed.

"Nakalusot ka ngayon, next time hindi na," Erik said. "Sige na don't worry I'll be waiting," Roan naughtily teases Erik. "When we're married, I can kiss you whenever, wherever I feel like it. Get used to it warden. Give me a hug instead." with a pleading look on his face.

"Ikaw talaga, dinadaan mo ko lagi sa mga ganyang titig eh!" she gives in and hugs him.

While hugging him she teased him.

"Hmmmm amoy baby ka kamahalan, Johnson's ba?"and she giggled.

"Don't start…you might regret it. Reserve mo yang pagkapilya mo on our honeymoon. For sure twins ang mabubuo natin." he laughed and started to tickle her.

“Sssshh sige na tama na. Pinagtitinginan na tayo. Ok na. Promise I'll behave na,” Roan said still while holding her giggles .

"Ok...I'm a good boy na. Here," Erik picked up the book she was reading and gave it to her. "Concentrate on that book, soon we should go eat some lunch I'm finally getting hungry."

"Just let me know when you want to eat then..." and she grabbed the book from him and started reading again.

After 30 minutes, Roan stood up and stretches...she was tired of sitting. She asked Erik if he wants to grab lunch. Erik was almost finish with the proposal. He said 10 more minutes and they will go to one of the restaurants and get lunch. They still have one and a half hour before their flight.

When Erik finished, they both went to a restaurant and ate lunch.

After eating lunch, they went back to their place at the boarding area but their seats were taken. They went to another side and sat there instead.

Erik checked the time, soon they will be boarding.

Finally.

At 12:45, the voice over for their flight was announcing boarding is open. They stood up and get in the line among the passengers. They were flying British Airways and American airlines.

It would be a long flight. They will be arriving the next day in Manila.
