Chapter 6- Home Sweet Home

In Malacañang, the President, was having dinner with the first lady. They know Eric and Roan are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

He asked his wife if she is picking them up at the airport tomorrow or she will just let the PSG detail for Erik to do it.

She said she will leave it to them. She knows Erik and Roan wouldn't want her to fuss about them coming home. In an email she received from Erik he mentioned about the engagement briefly. He said he will talk to them about it in detail when he gets home. He asked her not to tell his Dad yet.

She was just concerned about the press when they see them together. She doesn't want their detractors to fish on them knowing Roan was on official government trip and Erik was with her.

The election is coming and their political enemies will pick anything they can to distort and use against them.

Arrival Area

The plane landed on time. The voice over said to remain seated and keep the seatbelt on until it is safe to do so, until the plane is fully landed – but as a lot of passengers do, most are already out of their seat belts and fiddling with their phones trying to contact those who will be picking them up at the airport.

Roan and Erik stayed seated with seat belts still on. They were holding each other’s hands while Roan's head is rested on Erik's shoulder.

"We're home," whispered Erik to Roan. Her eyes were closed. She was tired from the long flight. She opened her eyes and looked at Erik and smiled.

"Yeah, I miss home." she said.

They were seated on the business class so they were first to get out of the plane.

Erik kissed Roan's cheek and he stood up as the lane finally halted to a stop.

The seatbelt light was off. He got their carry on at the top luggage cabin and handed Roan her purse. They headed out.

After they retrieved their luggage they went towards the door where the car should be waiting for them.

Erik could see that there are a couple of media reporters waiting. He took a deep breath and asked Roan to let him do the talking. Roan simply nodded although she was a little nervous about it. She initially told Erik if it would be better if they go home separately so as not to attract the media. Erik said not to worry especially he wants to take her home safely to her family in Caloocan. She didn't object anymore, she is leaving it all to Erik.

As they approached the car they see one of Erik's PSG detail waiting at the door and guiding them out. Some people at the airport were now looking especially with the media in sight.

One of the reporters holding a microphone with her camera man called out and asked if she can do a quick interview. She was from channel 2, one of the reporters for a showbiz talk show.

Erik agreed and held Roan at her side. "Yes, sure." he said.

All the other reporters about 5 of them crowded in front of them.

One asked, "Did you get married out of the country?"

Erik smiled at the woman asking the question, "No, we didn't get married there."

One of them eyeing Roan's finger, asked, "What's with the ring then?"

Erik looking at Roan and smiled, "I just proposed, and she accepted."
