TO HAVE & TO HOLD-Sequel of Catch Me I'm In Love

Chapter 1

Paris, France

In Paris, there Roan will encounter/meet Matthew. A chance encounter.

Near the Eiffel tower where there is a crepe stand, Roan was exploring Paris by herself and decided to go see Eiffel tower coz her day had commenced early. She always wanted to see the Eiffel tower and try the crepe. So she did, she was buying crepe and when she turned around while taking a bite at the crepe, she bumped into Matthew who didn’t notice Roan as he was trying to decide what flavor to get for the crepe. The crepe spilled on Roan's shirt and then both realized they are Filipinos.

Matthew apologized and upon realizing they are both Filipinos started talking to Roan. He then ordered another crepe for Roan and one for him and volunteered himself to take Roan back to her hotel so she can have a change of clothes.

He also volunteered to show her around Paris as he knows Paris and been here many times before. He said he is in Paris to cover the Fashion Week. He works for a major fashion magazine in the US and has been tasked to cover the Paris Fashion Week.

He is a Filipino-American, about 6', fair skinned, fluent in English, Tagalog and French. He lives in New York and also has an apartment in Paris. He told Roan his family is in New York but he still has relatives and friends in the Philippines. His Mom, he said was originally from Cebu and his Dad is American.

Roan being Roan, being nice she agreed for him to accompany her back to her hotel, but declined to go sightseeing with him, thinking about Erik and what he might feel especially he is also coming to Paris and she would much rather go sightseeing with her  boyfriend.

Matthew obviously didn’t recognize her, being Erik's girlfriend, or the guy just doesn't keep tabs of Philippine politics and showbiz.

However, Roan agreed to have coffee with him in the hotel's lobby. She just asked him to wait for her while she go up in her room and change. Matthew politely agreed.

They chatted a little bit and that's when Matthew knew what she was doing in Paris and what she does for work. She didn’t mention who her boyfriend is, but she did tell him she has a boyfriend already.

Matthew was caught in awe of Roan's simplicity, beauty and passion for her cause. He immediately felt like he knew her so well, and he feels he is beginning to really like Roan. He was somehow taken aback when Roan mentioned this soon that she already has a boyfriend. I guess Matthew's actions and gazes at her made her think and feel that way and prompted her to tell him off.

Matthew thanked Roan for the coffee and asked her if he can see her again before she leaves back to the Philippines, but Roan said no.

She told him her boyfriend is following her here and they will be going back to the Philippines together. Matthew understood and said it was nice to meet her and that hopefully when he goes back to the Philippines for a vacation or something that he can see her – even as a friend.

"If your boyfriend, won't mind" Matthew said.

Roan shook her head and smiled and waved at him.

She thought Matthew was nice, handsome and very simple like her, but she only thought of him as a friend.

(After Matthew left her, Roan thought about Erik and she really misses her boyfriend and wished he was here with her in Paris already. She can't wait to spend some time with him in Paris and feel the romance that this city brings.)

(FLASHBACK)

After Roan stopped Erik in going back to the US following their break up, a few days after, Erik had a press conference and introduced Roan to the world, as his new girlfriend. He pleaded the public to respect their lives and privacy at the same time. Roan was very happy and so was her family knowing Erik was proud of her and stood by her.

After that, Eric got really involved and was named head of the Sports and Recreational Program and Socio-cultural Program. He appreciated his father's work more and their relationship as father-son grew nicely. He continued to support his cause and even thought of being a public servant himself one day, following his dad's footsteps.

Matthew’s Apartment

Back in Matthew's apartment, he can't get Roan out of his mind, he felt he really found the girl of his dreams, it is just too bad that she is taken. The good thing was that she is not married yet. Matthew smiled...he still has a chance at her – to win her heart. One can be hopeful, especially in the name of Love.
