A Day Before the Engagement Party

Roan and her family were in Boracay a day early before the party. Roan was staying in one room while her brothers and parents are in other rooms at Shangrila Boracay.

Erik flew with them there and he is staying in his own room next to Roan’s.

Erik and Roan were at the lobby waiting for her family, they were headed to one of the beaches for a walk.

“Are you happy Roan, you look a little…unsettled?” Erik looking worried at Roan, she has been very quiet since they got here in Boracay.

“I’m ok. Siguro I’m just nervous kasi even if I try parang I still don’t belong in your circle Erik. I think I’m just worried magkalat sa party, yon lang,” she said.

She forced a smile and reassured him so he doesn’t worry about her anymore, 

“Don’t worry, I will try not to think of anything okay. I feel something kasi...something bad... I don’t know why.”

Erik pulled her close to him and kissed her on the forehead.

“Ssshh nothing is going to happen, the only thing that’s bound to happen is we are finally going to spend the rest of our lives together.” he said reassuringly.

“I hope so…I really hope so,” Roan whispered and hugged him too.

“Ehem…hrmmm” they didn’t realize that Roan’s family were already in front of them. They were too busy assuring each other that they were unaware of their surroundings.

They both got up and laughed at them.

“Tara na nga, para makita natin ang sunset.” Roan said.

The sunset was beautiful, as Erik and Roan sat on the sand holding hands while enjoying the sunset.

The look of love and being together emanate from each other. They were happy, they fit perfectly. 

Theirs is a love that’s pure and beat the odds of social status and “only in the movies or novel” kind of love.

For them love is being with someone you feel this great intense burst of emotion inside not looking into what you or your family has – monetary wise or the social achievements you have.

Just feeling secure in the love they have and trusting each other with their hearts is enough.
