Erik took her to Lincoln Center. He told her he is watching and will be seated. He promised to take her back to her hotel after the show.

To which, Roan nodded.

Kate met her and ushered her at the backstage. She said sorry for not picking her up herself but someone’s dress needed to be replaced last minute. She was visibly stressed.

Roan said it was okay.

She took the first dress she is to wear. Kate asked her to sit and she started polishing up her make-up and styled her.

She smiled at her satisfied with her look.

“You look beautiful Roan, I like it...Now I know why…ehmmm she stopped herself but gave Roan a mischievous grin.

Roan laughed at her.

She thinks she will get along well with Kate, she likes her. She’s like a sister she never had.

Roan was all dressed up. She looked at herself in the mirror, she liked the look …fits her perfectly.

While she was looking around, she saw Cassandra. Cassandra saw her, too.

She smirked. Roan smiled at her sweetly.

Roan approached Cassandra.

“Hi Cassandra. Small world right? Good to see you in a different light.”

“Cut the bullshit Roan. You’re not supposed to get near me.” Cassandra said lowering her voice, her obvious surprise of seeing a different Roan, very different from the Roan a year ago.

“That was then Cassandra. Past is past. I moved on, I hope you did, too.” Roan looked at her from head to foot. “I see you still hasn’t changed a bit, you are still bitter. I thought you won, but I guess not.” with that Roan moved away from her and waited for the show to start.

Cassandra was wearing a new designer’s creation.

She looks haggard. Roan heard she is an alcoholic. She has been in and out of the rehab…this was her come back show.

Monique called Roan and asked her if she is ready. Roan said yes and thanked her again.   The show has started…when it was Roan’s turn. She came out and did her thing – she looked at the audience – her face the usual serious look, then she saw Erik seated at the back part. He meekly waved at her and did a thumbs up – she stopped herself from smiling at him.    Then the flashes and clicks of cameras – they loved her.

She looks down at the group of photographers and smiled – she then realized one of them was Matthew.

He was busy taking pictures of her and the other celebrities and designers among the audience.

Matthew realizing who she was, took his eyes off his camera’s viewfinder. He looked at her and smiled shyly. Roan curved her lips into a grin.

It was high time for her to forgive and forget.

It was as if the whole cast of last year’s characters in her living nightmare were all here.   She struts and went backstage. She has to change into another outfit.

Kate was there helping her again prepare for the new look.

There were two more outfits and she’s done.   It was now Cassandra’s turn.

She’s obviously a little drunk. Her walking is a little wobbly. When she was in the middle of her walk, she slipped. She cursed but managed to stand back.

She was humiliated. She was pulled out of the show when they learned she was drunk. Her career is over.

Roan looked at her pitifully. Karma is now. It is working beautifully.
