It was 9 in the morning. Erik was wearing a jogging outfit. A sleeveless shirt and shorts with his running shoes.
Every morning he goes to Central Park to jog. That was his exercise. He loves New York. It was his sanctuary after the break up with Roan.
His Dad's candidacy for the Presidential re-election wasn't smeared by the scandal caused by Cassandra. His family knew what the truth is – and that's what matters.
Although they didn't agree with Erik and Roan's decision not to push through with the wedding, they understood that they needed time to fix their feelings themselves.
They are still young anyway. They have a lot going on for both of them.
His Mom told him that if in the end it is meant to be, then they just have to wait for it to happen.
Erik misses Roan.
He silently follows her life in Paris, she changed so much. She is now a model in Paris. She is actually going to be here in New York for a Fashion Show.
He smiled, he owe Roan a big apology. He didn't listen to her. He ignored her pleas before. He was selfish. He forgot that Roan was a victim, too. He wants to make things right.
He shouldn't have waited one year to do it, but he didn't want to be in the way of Roan's new-found career. He didn't want to be selfish in that aspect. She is allowed to grow out of her shell. And she did. He is proud of her.
He hopes to meet Roan when she gets to New York. He knew where she will be staying. He continues his 30 minute run in Central Park.
He wants to get back to his apartment and get brunch and he is headed to his office where he works as a financial officer in one of the firms at Wall Street. Then tomorrow, he would try to see if he can meet Roan.
Her fashion show is in two days. He already got himself a ticket for it. He smiled and continued jogging.
