Chapter 12- A Few Hours Before the Engagement Party

After Matthew and Cassandra met at the lobby they both headed up to their own rooms, they agreed to meet an hour before the party so they can catch up.

Matthew was unaware about Cassandra’s motives, little did he know that she is concocting a plan and is getting better especially when she saw him.

Matthew was uneasy about tonight. He wants to tell Roan about his feelings but at the same time he is afraid of being rejected as a friend, then he will lose both. A chance at love and a chance at friendship. He can’t bear to lose both.

What made him decide to go back and attend the party was the thought of seeing her again and watch her from a distance, love her from afar. Pathetic he knows, but that’s just him. He is every inch a gentleman – if Erik wasn’t a friend of his, he would compete for Roan. He doesn’t want trouble and he respects Erik and he sees he is a changed man. He knows he is sincerely in love with Roan – and he can’t blame him. 

The guy was a lucky bastard! He smiled at this thought. He praised and cursed Erik in his mind.

He stopped himself from thinking too much. He went into the shower and cooled himself off. He had a long flight and he hardly slept. He plans to take a nap before meeting up with Cassandra later on.

Roan’s Hotel Suite

Roan just got out of the shower when she heard a knock on her door.

“Timing naman talaga, si nanay siguro,” without thinking she went to open the door and forgot that she is only wearing a robe and nothing else.

“Nay naman eh…” she said while opening the door. She was combing her hair with one hand and holding the door with the other.

It was Erik. He smiled at her and looking amused helped himself inside.

“Hmmmmm bango…are you seducing me warden ha…opening the door na ganyan ang ayos mo?” he said teasingly.

She pouted her lips, “Hehh..akala ko kasi si nanay tutulungan kasi nya akong magbihis for later noh?” she then hold on to her robe tightly eyeing Erik suspiciously.

Erik raised his eyebrows.

“Mukha bang ako si nanay? Wag ka na magpalusot…magbihis ka na nga baka kung ano pa ang magawa ko eh..” he laughed and kissed her hand.

“Subukan mo ha, para lang sa honeymoon to! Dyan ka na nga…puede pikit ka muna.”

“Sige pero kiss muna isa lang…please..”

She kissed him on his cheek.

“Ayan…naku sige na kasi baka dumating si nanay maabutan tayo lagot!” and she tried to move away from him but he was fast, he didn’t let go of her and wrapped her with his strong arms.

He smelled so good. Freshly out of the shower. He is wearing a white shirt and cargo pants. Roan closed her eyes as he touched her hair and trace the contour of her back. She arched her back and was tickled.

She shivered. Erik stopped.

“Are you cold, Roan ” then he hugged her tighter as he gently lowered his lips next to her.

He can feel her body shivering – because of what, he doesn’t know. He just wants to feel her lips against his lips. Her body against his body. He doesn’t want to let go of her. He kissed her gently, tasting her parted lips. His tongue slowly inching inside her sweet mouth, feeling – waiting for her to welcome him, to respond to him.

She doesn’t know what to do, they never kissed like this before. Every time was just a smack, on the forehead or cheeks. Today it is different, and she isn’t wearing anything else underneath the robe. Her mind is in a panic mode, she can’t move. She loves Erik so much and she wants this kiss as much as him but she is afraid, she doesn’t know how.

Erik feeling her apprehension moved an inch away and looked at her, holding her chin. He asked her if it was okay to kiss her, she bit her lip and shyly looked away, he smiled and jut pulled her close to him.

“Don’t worry, when we’re married, you won’t be shy anymore. I will teach you and I’m sure you’ll be a good student.” Erik teased her, Roan blushed and pinched his arm.

“Ikaw talaga! Sige na sige na. Magbibihis na talaga ako, i dont want to be underdressed for tonight – i want to look beautiful tonight!” she beamed.

“You are already beautiful my love…I love you the way you are…especially like that.” and he quickly pulled her back in his arms and kissed her on her lips tenderly before she can resist him.

She kissed him back, clutching on to her robe about to pop open. She cuts of the kiss and moved away and teasingly went back to the bathroom.

“See you later kamahalan! I love you!” and she closed the door while Erik still lingering on the quick kiss they shared.

“She sure knows how to tease.” he whispered and smiled. He can’t wait until they are married. He will make sure they make a lot of babies.

“Ok. I will leave na. I will see you later.”

She yelled “Ok,” from the bathroom.

He headed back to his suite next door.

He needed a shower. Looking at Roan so fresh out of the shower awakened his sensuality- good thing he was able to control himself, he respects Roan and he won’t force her until they’re married. He wants them to share the best for their honeymoon.

He took of his clothes and went into the bathroom. He really needed the shower. He has a nice physique that he maintains through hours of basketball and at the gym. He believes in a healthy fit lifestyle, Roan inspired him so much – his partying days were over and he doesn’t regret a thing.

Tonight is a busy night. He is excited to formally announce their engagement, he is happy that soon, Roan will be Mrs. Erik Rodriguez. He can’t wait to start a family with her. He only wants to spend each day with her, be with her and build their dreams together and create a big happy family.
