Merlin and I were traveling to a small town which was a two day trip away from Camelot. I had asked her to accompany me because I had heard that there was a magic healer in the town. It rose red flags for me, it wasn't common to find healers in such a small town. There was talk that the healer was an angle sent to guide the humans, but I wanted to see this for myself.
"We're here." says Merlin bringing me out of my thoughts. I looked at the town, it really wasn't all that different than any of the other small towns I've seen.
"Let's ask around and see if anyone knows where we can find the healer." I say, Merlin nods her head in agreement. We walk a bit further into town before we start asking questions. I saw a group of young woman talking so I thought I'd ask them if they knew anything. "Excuse me ladies, but could I ask you a quick question?" I asked making them look at me. They look at each other then back at me and smile.
"Sure thing cutie." says one woman with short green hair.
"I was just wondering if you knew anything about the healer that is said to be here?" I ask. They all seem to stop and think, but in the end three of them shook their heads.
"Nope." they said. The fourth one stayed quite.
"That's okay. I'll..."
"Wait." says the fourth woman making me look at her. "I had gone to see the healer once. My son was very ill. The local doctors couldn't help him, so my husband and I became desperate. We brought him to the healer and asked if she could heal him. She had us lay him on a bed then made us wait outside the room. When she finished, she had completely cured him from his disease. She has to an angle." she explains.
"What was her name? Do you know?"
"She said it was Azriel."
"Where can I find her?"
"Just on the North edge of town. She lives in the old farm house."
"Thank you for your help." I say. I left and met up with Merlin and let her know what the woman had said to me.
"So this girl is supposedly an angle?" asked Merlin.
"That's what I've herd, but I don't think she really is one." I say as we make our way to the old farm house.
"I haven't ask you yet, but why are you so interested in finding this girl?" she asks. Flashbacks of my lost love flooded my mind, my heart began to ache.
"I had lost someone I loved and I'm looking for her. She was one of the few people who could heal others. This is the best lead I've gotten in the two years I've been searching."
"What happened to her?"
"She went to the next town over which only a few only a few hours walk. She had left before it had gotten dark so she should've been back by noon the next day, but she never came back. I started asking around, but no one knew the woman I was searching for. I haven't stopped my search yet, I won't give up until I know what happened to her." I say as we reach the farm house. We walked up to the door and knocked.
From behind the door we could hear someone walking towards the door. It opened slowly revealing someone standing there wearing a dark blue cloak with the hood up to cover their face. I stared at the person for a minute, I was unable to speak for some unknown reason.
"Can I help you?" came a woman's voice.
"Yes, we're looking for Azriel." says Merlin.
"That would be me. What can I do for you? Neither of you look injured or ill." she says. That's when I came back to my senses.
"Actually I was wondering if you knew another healer that I'm looking for." I say.
"I might. What is the healer's name?" she asks.
"(Y/N). She had gone missing about two years ago. I've been looking for her ever since." I say. Azriel stayed silent for a bit, she seemed a bit tense.
"I... uh... I haven't hear of a healer named (Y/N) before. I'm sorry." she says turning away and trying to go back inside the house. I grabbed her arm before she could though. She hissed in pain, I loosen the grip on her arm a bit. I walked closer to her. I removed the hood of the cloak and it revealed (Y/N).
"(Y/N)." I gasped. She looked like she was going to die any second. She had scars and bruises all over her face and neck, her skin was pale and sunken like she was on her last breath. "What happened to you?" She had tears in her eyes.
"You're not an actual healer... are you?" asks Merlin. (Y/N) shakes her head.
"I transfer injuries and illnesses to... me." she says.
"I'm not going to transfer them to someone else. I would rather take this then let someone else suffer. That's why I never came home to you. The person I went to heal had third degree burns. At the time you wouldn't have let me continue to do my job, but over the last two years I've over done it. I don't know if my body will last much longer."
"(Y/N) you need to stop and let your body rest. Please my love I can't lose you. I have nothing without you. Come back to Camelot with me. Once your body heals you can go back to doing what you do best." I begged her.
"Arthur I..." she starts to say.
"Please." She sighs and looks at me.
"Alright. I'll come back. Only for you my love." she says making me smile. I pull her into a gentle kiss so I wouldn't hurt her. Once I pulled away I looked into her eyes.
"I love you (Y/N)."
"I love you too Arthur." she says smiling at me.
