PART 4- THE DINNER DAY (Part-2)

"Hello, Haan Dev Bolo. Kuch kaam tha?" asked Sonakshi picking up the call as she walked into her room.

"Nahi Sonakshi, Bas ye jaan ney ke liye call kiya tha ki aaj shaam ko tum sab aa rahe ho na?" replied Dev.

"Haan Dev, hum sab aa rahe hai" said Sonakshi

"Aur Jatin, Wo bhi aa raha hai Na?" asked Dev

"Haan, Wo bhi aa raha hai" said Sonakshi

"Chalo aacha hai ki wo maan gaya" replied Dev

"Aur Mr. Bose, Unho ney apna faisla toh badal nahi diya na" asked Dev, though he knew Bijoy would not change his decision since it involved Suhana's happiness, yet Dev was not sure.

"Haan, Wo thodey naraz toh they lekin Jatin ney unhe samjha diya aur Baba Jatin ki baat kabhi nahi taltey" said Sonakshi as a matter of fact, as soon as she said that it pricked Dev's heart, even when they were in a relationship he could never gain Bijoy's trust after their first break up yet somewhere in his heart he had yearned to gain that respect as he was like a father to him whom he had always pinned for after he lost his own father in his childhood but alas that was not to be and he blamed himself for the sourness in their relationship.

"Dev, you there?" asked Sonakshi when she did not hear anything from him.

"Haan, main sunn raha hoon Sonakshi" he said. Sonakshi wanted to ask Dev something but was hesitant, gathering herself she asked "Dev, Jatin ke aaney sey tumhey koi problem toh nahi hai naa?"

"Nahi Sonakshi, tum aisa kyun keh rahi ho? Jab mainey khud usey invite kiya hai toh mujhey kya problem hogi, main manta hoon ki pehle main usey pasand nahi karta tha shayad iss liye kyunki wo Suhana se itna close tha jabki main Suhana ke liye ek ajnabee tha, lekin main ye bhi janta hoon ki bachpan se usney Suhana ka khayal rakha hai aur Suhana bhi usey kafi pyar karti hai. Aur usney tum sab ka bhi kaafi saath diya hai. Phir pichle kuch dino main Khatri ka sach saamney laney main bhi usney kaafi madad ki hai, toh ussey na pasand karne ka koi sawal hi nahi hai. Wo ek accha insan hai aur main jaanta hoon ki wo tum sabh ka kafi achey se khayal rakhega" said Dev, but as soon as he said the last line he cursed himself for making his feelings apparent once again. He just hoped that Sonakshi did not pick on that.

"Kya Matlab, tum aisey kyun keh rahe ho ki wo humara achey se khayal rakhega?" asked Sonakshi after she heard Dev saying Jatin would take care of them.

"Arey, kuch nahi Sonakshi. Mera matlab ye tha ki itney saal usney tum sab ka itna saath diya hai, itna khayal rakha hai to aage bhi karega na" said Dev with a fumble and hoped that Sonakshi would not probe further.

"Oh, Ok. Tum sahi keh rahe ho" said Sonakshi, though she was not convinced with his answer she did not drag it further as she knew Dev was still uncomfortable with Jatin. Changing the topic she said "Meri abhi Soha se baat hui thi, wo kafi excited hai Dinner ko leke aur usney ye bhi bataya ki Neha, Riya aur Nikki teeno aa rahi hai aaj"

"Haan, Suhana kafi excited hai unse milney ke liye" said Dev his voice stoic.

"Theek hai, main rakhti hoon Dev. Office ka kuch kaam haii aur phir tayar bhii hona hai, Bye" Sonakshi said.

"Bye Sonakshi, take care always" Dev said and abruptly cut the call.

Sonakshi was perplexed to say the least, before she could reply Dev had cut the call. She once again went back to her thoughts, right from her call with Dev yesterday she felt something amiss and then today's call just intensified that. She suddenly came out of her thoughts when Jatin snapped his fingers in front of her and asked "Kya Hua Sona, Kya soch rahi hai ?"
