PART 25 - SECOND CHANCE ??

"WHERE DID I GO WRONG MISHA? WHAT WAS MY MISTAKE? WHY DID WE SUFFER SO MUCH MISHA? WHY?"

Sonakshi broke down as she said that, she was slowly realizing that it was not only her who had suffered all these years but even Dev who had suffered equally if not more, but what befuddled her was why did they have to go through that pain, what was their mistake. They loved each other, in fact they had tried to handle their families as well then where did they go wrong? Was loving someone wrong? Why did they reach a stage where their love was replaced by hate and anger?

Misha just held Sonakshi allowing her to cry, she knew numerous questions would have been running in Sonakshi's mind, she was in the exact same turmoil that Dev was in years ago. After a few moments Sonakshi calmed down as Misha patted her back, she forwarded the glass of water to her.

"Better?" asked Misha as Sonakshi gulped down the water.

"Can I ask you something Sonakshi?" asked Misha as Sonakshi gestured her to go ahead.

"Which was the best phase of your life with Dev? If given a chance which is the time that you would want to relive with him?" asked Misha catching Sonakshi by surprise, she was unable to understand where Misha was going with this. She remembered back the time she had spent with Dev, though they had spent only a small time together, yet they had so many innumerable memories, as she thought back she had her answer.

"The time just after we had confessed our love to each other. The time when we used to sneak out hiding from everyone just to spend a few moments with each other, though we spent only a small time with each other in a day, yet it was best time for both of us. It was time when we were free of our responsibilities and were just Dev and Sonakshi. We used to talk about everything and anything, without any filters. We were so much in love" said Sonakshi as she smiled remembering those days.

"Then why did that change Sonakshi, rather when did that change?" asked Misha as Sonakshi looked confused not understanding what she was trying to ask.

"Confused?" asked Misha seeing her confused as Sonakshi nodded in agreement.

"You said that the time just after your confession was the best time you both had, When the world did not know about your love, right?" she asked as Sonakshi agreed while Misha continued "So did that change once you had proclaimed your love before the world, before your parents?" she asked as once again Sonakshi was lost in the past, as she thought back she realized Misha was indeed saying the truth, a lot had changed after they had confessed about their love before their parents.

"It did change right?" asked Misha as Sonakshi slowly nodded "Why?" continued Misha as Sonakshi was left tongue-tied, she did not have an answer to that.

"I will tell you Sonakshi, why it changed. As soon as you both confessed your love before your parents, the primary concern for both you and Dev was the approval of your love by them. And when you both saw that Dev's mother had a problem with your relationship instead of investing more time in strengthening your relationship both of you became more concerned about her approval than trusting and believing each other" she said as Sonakshi slowly realizing the mistakes both did in their relationship.
