Amanda's POV
I usually never skip school, but today I had a reason.
Looking around the town, I could find lots of apartments I could rent. Yes I'm renting an apartment, because first of all, I need a place to live closer to the school campus so I won't have to catch the bus everyday, and I also didn't want to live with my monster of an almost-step dad.
There was an ancient looking apartment that had balloons in the backyard and empty beer bottles outside. It was probably an apartment that had parties every night. Not somewhere I'd like to be.
It took quite a while for me to find a decent one, until I came along a modern looking apartment, which looked clean and tidy. I looked around the place and figured that it was the best home I could find. I guess someone else was living here too, judging by the jeep parked beside the apartment. Oh well, it didn't matter if I had to share a home with someone I didn't know, as long as it's not Dan. I made a few calls and decided to rent this place.
Luke's POV
Amanda was nowhere to be found at lunch in the cafeteria.
I had looked everywhere, was that girl hiding from me again?
After a few more minutes of looking, I finally gave up. Maybe she was just busy doing some lunchtime club with other people, and she's trying to make new friends. I sighed in relief, realizing that I was being paranoid.
----
Thank God school was over, I honestly couldn't wait to get back to my apartment and have those after school chocolate milk parties with Mikey. Call me childish but that's a habit we always do.
I walk home because I left my jeep at the apartment, and when I had arrived, I noticed a silver bike parked against the fence. What the hell? Did Michael bring a girl home? This is getting too exciting.
"Hello? Mikey?" I said as I walked up the stair, "Where's the girl you brought home, sweetie?" I teased him. Not focusing on my feet, I suddenly fell...in front of someone's feet.
"Sorry Michael." I muttered and looked up, only to find that it wasn't Michael who I was on my knees for.
It was Amanda.
