Chapter 32

Hey guys I just wanted to let u know that sadly this story is coming to an end soon (pls don't kill me). There will be about 4 more chapters in this book and I'm so grateful to all u awesome readers who've given this book so much attention! I appreciate it my dudes ;D anyways back to the story...

Lapis's POV:

I woke up peacefully, however the normal warmth occupied by Peridot in my bed wasn't there. I raised an eyebrow and just shrugged it off, assuming she probably had work to do. I checked the time on my phone, and it read 7:36 AM - Peridot doesn't normally wake up that early, I thought to myself. 

I got out of bed, and took off my old clothes from last night. I put on a black Nirvana crop-top and dark blue skinny jeans. I slipped on my leather jacket, grabbed my phone, and walked out the door. I walked down the hallway toward the elevator, and quickly pressed the button to open the rickety doors. I rode in the elevator down to the 'UG' floor, and as soon as the doors opened, I saw chaos going down. 

There were all kinds of gang members screeching at each other and panicking. People were running back and forth and trying to get a hold of someone. As soon as they spotted me, they all ran toward me and I yelped in terror as they trampled over. "HEY!" I hollered, holding my hand up, and their stomping came to a halt. "Ma'am we've been trying to get a hold of you all night! You weren't answering your phone and you wouldn't answer the door!" an Amethyst spoke up.

I must've been a heavy sleeper last night, I thought. "What's the big fuss?" I asked. "It's Peridot! She's been arrested! She beat one of Yellow Diamond's Pearls to death with a baseball bat and some guy called the cops on her!" a Jasper piped up. "Yeah! I saw her getting put into the back of the cop car and she was covered in blood!" a Ruby exclaimed from the back. 

"W-what?! Th-that can't be right, Peridot would never do something like that!" I stated, starting to tremble. "C'mon!" the Amethyst said, and she ran to the elevator, and I followed quickly behind her. Once we made it up to above ground floor, we stepped out, and ran out the front door. We both hopped onto our motorcycles, and I waited for her to go first so I could follow her. 

We dashed down the streets all the way around the corner to some secluded alleyway I've never seen before. I stopped abruptly with a ear-piercing screech as soon as I caught sight of the scene. There was blood on the walls, ground, and drenching the lifeless Pearl sitting in the restricted chair. It was a horrifying sight to see how much damage Peridot caused the woman. Her head was busted open and everything! Not even I would do something like this, I thought as I got off my motorcycle.

"Pretty ugly, huh..." the Jasper commented, and I just nodded slowly in reply. "H-how could she do such a thing?! Is she on d-drugs or something?! It's not like her to do this!" I said, shuddering. "Yeah, we don't know why exactly she did this and what she was even doing, but our main concern right now is where Peridot is now..." a Ruby said. Right. She's in jail. "We gotta make a plan to get her outta there without getting arrested ourselves..." I muttered, putting my hand on my chin in deep thought.

"Who says we need a plan? We could always just...bust her out..." an Amethyst suggested. I looked at her, and smirked. "Go on...."
